what are your thoughts from the 3-2 win over the Blues?
@Joel-gh3qn2 ай бұрын
The PK has been their downfall. Now they are under 70% on the road. Pasta had a great game. Geekie had the same opportunity from Pasta and whiffed. I’m still not sold on Geekie being on the 1st line. I hope Lindholm is day to day. If it’s more than that, then they’re going to be hurting. I also noticed that it was 24:08 since their last shot. This game went 4 minutes in before they got their first shot. I also seen a lot of standing around waiting to see what the other player was going to do. They’re still not trusting each other. Still no chemistry. They still need to get their PP going less passing and more shooting. Hopefully, this was the start of something. But, we’ll see come tomorrow against a really good team.

Hockey is an emotional game. - look at the spurts of energies these guys have to put out each shift. That comes from beyond physical capabilities. And playing with Torey Krug around likely helped that energy He lives in St Louis. But when we coach, we can't bang on the negatives. When they do something right, we get them right back out there to attempting to repeat that same muscle memory.

a comeback road win is nothing to sneeze at, even if it is another struggling team. the Bs are fortunate they have had a friendly schedule, but that means they will hit some tough stretches in the future. it is hard to know if this will help snap the Bs out of their visit to hockey hell because no one can figure out why 75 % of the team was playing like they were stoned for a month. if i was in that room, i'd be wearing the same socks and skivvies until we lost again. same pre game meal, same playlist in the room. etc. offer a sacrifice to the hockey gods, perhaps a voodoo doll of sam bennett. on the poitras decision, i didn't think i would agree with monty about anything -- ever -- but poitras needs to be schooled somehow about player positioning. he got absolutely wrecked at least twice in the last week by guys he never saw coming. he got hit so hard i didn't now if he would get up. his offensive game is nhl level and they could use his contributions, but he is going to get killed doing it. he is also a real liability handling the puck and making killer turnovers. he is playing summer league hockey -- all wide open offense and let the goalie stand on his head.

@Mike___Honcho GREAT COMMENT! I think you're right on with Potrais we need him second half of the season. Sam Bennett voodoo doll is a killer! 😄😆😅 I have a feeling there are going to be really stinky hockey bags and hockey players until we lose again! I'm laughing at myself also! I try to remember to wash my Bruins shirt and knit cap when we lose! 😄 Old habits die hard or don't die at all Like fishermen, our habits never "die"- we just smell like it! Great points. you made me laugh out loud to the point where my dawgs are chirpin' at me! I'm riding this roller coaster as high as it's going to take me! I'm ready for the drop!

Well done Geekie , keep up the good work, 🎉 Luv My Pasta ! ❤. Hope H. Lindholm comes back soon, he's been a standout on defense. Yep -this is the ole Bruins. Play 1st and 3rd period. The cardiac kids are BACK! 😄 Pasta loved playing in Torey krugs house... wondering if being back around Tory brought up some energy. Even if he wasn't playing, he was definitely around Remember the knee spins? The Boston Celtics ☘️ put us through this also during the same cardiac kid era on the Bruins 2007-2012+! Played 3/4 of the game. Do well the first half then we'd cringe third quarter! The bigger the lead the faster they blew it! it took Paul Pierce & Ray Allen sinking three-pointers the last minute or at the final buzzer! Got to keep up on our omega-3s following some of these teams to protect our cardiac systems! journey of a thousand Miles to the playoffs starts with the first win, against the same team that stole our 2019 cup! Of course there's still alot more required "fixing" this team. There's got to be good reason to send Matt down. They want him in a winning culture... ready to play the second half of the season. Especially playoffs when the enforcers come out. Based on one of his previous interviews - I totally agreed with Monty (summarized) "we start off the season winning but we're not playing in june... This is the time to make adjustments. We want to be playing in June this year... " That fits with getting Matt ready for second half of the season. Without being injured, we hope! Nothing more to add. You & the rest of the comments said it all. Since Canada eliminated the penny, I can't call it my two cents! 🪙 🪙 2 loonies! Go Bruins! 🐻

I'm not thrilled with Poitras getting sent down. As much as I dislike analytics he has some of the best numbers on the team. I realize results matter but maybe with competent wings more goals would be scored. He was winning puck battles. He cut down his getting caught from behind because he was moving the puck faster. He was learning. Putting him on the wing was a bad idea, he looked lost out there. Maybe that had something to do with the decision. Of course I could be way off and going down might be the best thing for him. I don't know. It's confusing, he was nowhere near being the worst player in the lineup/
@bruinsdiehards2 ай бұрын
I don’t really like the move either and yes his analytics are fantastic but those numbers are against bottom six players. I think what is best for his development should be in the NhL but the team feels different

I find it hard to believe we are in 3rd place in our division LOL Our division is not the powerhouse it used to be. I get they are trying to get Geekie and Fredric going but putting them on the 2nd powerplay unit? I mean Brazeau gets goals in multiple games and he, of course, does not get rewarded with some powerplay time? Speaking of the powerplay and our special teams in general, at what point do we call out the special teams coach/s? I can see our powerplay being middle of the road and be alright with it, but how the hell is our penalty killing so horrible? I mean Forbert was the glue that held our penalty kill together?

I think Justin is on his way to being on special teams... you're onto something with Brazeau. Yeah, it blew my mind that Bruins got their playoff berth with 15 overtime loser points last season! We didn't deserve that standing - but I'll take it! The idea of simply being better than your opponents, making the least amount of mistakes - is exactly how wins happen in competitive sports It's very evident in a sport like tennis. Whoever makes the least mistakes wins. Regardless of how crappy I play! Just be careful about who you pick for opponents on a tennis court! And as we know, the team that commits the least amount of penalties is more likely to win. But going back to your assessment of Brazeau. I thought it was his first Dallas game where he scored but it wasn't. It was Philly. Yet I remember that Dallas game in February last season when he broke out.. His impact on the game for the 12 or 13 minutes he plays has been increasing and I think that will continue. These undrafted guys do a lot of development in the NHL. I'm wondering if Court might speak to some of the distinctions between the drafted guys and the undrafted ones sometime when there's nothing else to talk about? And I think it's going to be very relevant to the next few years of Bruins rebuilding because we simply don't have the top draft picks nor cap space. Scouting is going to have to kick in finding these diamonds in the rough that the draft passed by if Bruins want to remain competitive for the next 3-5 years, it's got to be these undrafted guys we find around the world. With international experience. I see this as his development. I'm glad he didn't stay with Maine Mariners too long - I don't believe in the maine hockey system. They don't use the best players... You have to be connected to get into lower level Maine hockey Been there, done that. I won't get into it now He's progressing very well. And I hope you get your wish that Justin becomes part of special teams.
