Its amazing the restraint and love he shows for Stevie. You can tell he wants to say more, but is not willing to go down that road. Unrequited love is so painful, especially when you have spent that better part of your life loving someone and still have mutual feelings for each other, but just can't seem to make it work anymore and eventually rehash and open OLD WOUNDS. This is what we do in the CO DEPENDENCY relationships. Sad...very sad....truthfully, I fell Lindsey never truly got the respect he earned and deserves and Stevie has turned into a PRIMA DONNA! Let's face it ~ Lindsey was the "genius" behind this group and the group was a big clique. In the end, Buckingham focused on a solo career and "outgrew" the clique. How many times have we had this happen, and we're the fall guy? In this case, what the band didn't have was the guts to recognize what Buckingham contributed and it was he who was the force behind their greatness. His hit songs comprise an "off the charts", unbelievable success story that the "clique" was not grown up enough to acknowledge. But Buckingham was the knight in shining armor for this group which loved to linger in the shadows, and his light was too strong. They claimed the success for themselves. Eventually, the gifted and the talented move on. They just followed and created the sound and the look, but the ground roots of what this whole band was about.....was the artful genius of Lindsey Buckingham. Plain and simple. Period.

same basic thing with brian jones of the rolling stones and michael corby of the baby's both the real creative force for the unique sounds of the bands and kinda outcast because of jealousies etc, it happens a lot in bands where the most creative person is kicked out, fired, same thing with pete willis of def leppard, yeah he got drunk a lot but he was the guy who came up with all the cool guitar riffs.

@@westoftherockies Mick Taylor was 10x the musician that Jones was, not even a slight to Jones, but he was part of the Stones more "bubble gum" sound. Taylor took their records to a whole other level. Ronnie Wood ain't bad either. But for F Mac, it's the collective that makes it that good. Lindsay has good records for sure, but he never reached that kind of musical pinnacle on his solo stuff, I'd argue Stevie beat him out on solo records.

This was before 2018 when Stevie had Lindsey fired from Fleetwood Mac over a perceived slight, in a 'him or me' ultimatum to the rest of the band. After that was finally settled out of court (it's a rift that can never be healed), Lindsey had to have emergency open heart surgery. Life really is too short to fall out with people you love.

It’s actually a little heart crushing knowing that relationship issues and/or differences (whichever they may be) never really go away. Knowing Stevie since they were teenagers, and Lindsey sitting there at this age, one would think they resolved their conflicts after that many eons of years. Stevie had one or more pregnancies, she admitted having an abortion/s, regretfully, and later the prescription drug Clonopin, made her unable to have a relationship or start a family as well. I hope Stevie considers a 'surrogate' mother to still have kids, wishing Lindsay Buckingham to be the father of the kids. Stevie had her priorities out of order and wrong. Next after God Marriage is number , not anything else let alone your job! That was her problem which she said our of her own mouth. She put the band and career above her marriage. The marriage relationship is Number 1 in the line of priorities. Even children and family are number 2 because you need to keep a good marriage relationship to have a good family. All the rest come after this. Then his mind would be free and he could mix it up with some other musicians, create new memories, create new music, and that is what keeps you young and alive. @@simoneu.nathaus7292 it is easy to be swept away on romantic notions that this public figure should be with that public figure, however there are probably reasons that it would not work out and maybe even not be healthy for one or both, just like there are feelings that it would be great if it did. a lot of times when you are away from someone you have had a relationship with, it is easy to be nostalgic for what was and what could have been, however if you try to rekindle the relationship and make it work , some of the reasons that it fell apart resurface. it is easy to dream of them being together, but then you don't have to wake up every morning and make the relationship work, so maybe leave them to decide on their own. like the man said "you know very little about them then" if you don't understand that it was a painful breakup for Lindsey and there are reasons that Stevie isn't interested in going back to it again. a lot of it is in interviews and music industry stories and rumors, but a lot of it is stuff you will never know. bottom line: if it hasn't happened after all of these years, there are probably good reason it hasn't, so leave it alone.

I appreciate and value Stevie's music immensely, but her attitude is total garbage as of late. She should have just left, it's wrong to pin her front-woman vocals against Buckingham's mastery of both the guitar and music production. She asked the band to sell out for tickets and they complied. A band with integrity would have dismissed Stevie instead: she no longer wants to make new music, whats the point?

I don't think Stevie loves him if you listen to MANY of her interviews. She finds him maddening, and if you read between the lines of what she's said she doesn't really find him that "attractive" anymore, meaning she's not attracted to his talent at the expense of what drives her nuts about him. Ergo, this isn't an "even" relationship. Lindsay appears to have less issues with Stevie than vice versa.

I think Lindsey has mellowed a lot in his years. He seems more humbled. I think he loved her more than she did him. I think they were both just way to intense for each other. Sort of like competing personalities. That happens a lot with artists who are in a relationship with each other. I also believe the drugs, especially cocaine, they took heavy partake in their young years probably had an adverse effect on Lindsey's personality because he seems to me to already be an energetic hyper kind of guy. Coke does not go well with that kind of person. Hence his tendency to having a volatile temper. I dont know of course, just observing from a far I get the feeling thats how it is. Any way, I've loved the Mac my entire adult life. Since I first heard them in 1974. Every dime I spent buying their albums and going to their concerts.... worth every single penny. They have given me so much joy. Each and every one of them! I LOVE THE MAC!

I think she protests too much. She will never admit she still cares/loves Lindsey. But a mark of somebody really not caring another person is indifference. She could easy say "yeah Lindsey and I are fine." But she doesn't, she always finds something to criticise about him. God forbid anything ever happens to Lindsey, but she will definitely be heartbroken. Maybe losing Tom Petty, her great friend, might make her realise, life's too short.

I really would be somewhat insecure if I was any of his girlfriends or now wife because although I am sure he loves his wife and family there is just something still there for his soul mate, Stevie and that would be hard to deal with. To say what he said in this interview is one thing but it's what is in his voice and the eyes just give it away that he would have never wanted to part ways with his Stevie whom I sense he will always love. The great thing is that a younger wife doesn't take away the love and memories for a woman who is now in her 60's and as he said their relationship is still a work in progress. Nice to know that age has nothing to do with true love and everlasting love. If they decided to get back together what a moment that would be.

But the way they say certain things and also the way they look at each other and touch each other, it is so heartbreakingly obvious how much in love with each other they still are. They will always belong to each other in a very precious way. They are the most beautiful couple ever. I just pray they finally give in to their feelings one day and get back together forever. Chris Paneesh the story I heard long ago was that Fleetwood Mac wanted him to join the band and he and Stevie spent the last of their money buying all the Fleetwood Mac records and listening to them to see if it would be a good fit, and when he decided to join he said it was a package deal. They had to take Stevie too.

They don't realize how UGLY things got between the 2. During many different eras. She was boinking guys and having them sit in the front row of shows to taunt him, he had a terrible temper and it got physical at times, he then was dating a real nutjob in the early 80s who ended up making Nicks' life a living hell. These are the under-the-hood stories that reveal some of the ugly truths. The fans want it to be something that the 2 of them know is far from the truth. He himself has admitted they play off that desired dynamic onstage, meaning it may LOOK genuine, but it's all part of the showmanship that makes their stage presence so powerful. This is not a romance novel, it's just life with its beauty and true ugliness amplified by the rock n roll lifestyle.
