I picked up a Pod Go back in September to replace my 10-year-old Floor Pod Plus. I had generally gone ampless over the past few years, using the Floor Pod live and in the studio, after getting tired of dragging a half stack or my Evil Twin around. If I want to run a speaker cab I run the Pod Go into the effects in of my Evil Twin. The Pod Go gives me all the horsepower I need for shows or recording, with more amp/cab choices than I would ever need. I uploaded dozens of IR's onboard as well. The update from last week added three amps (based on a Fender Princeton, the Diezel VH4 Lead and VH4 Mega), two cabs (based on Fender Princeton 1x10 and 1x12), and 8 new effects including fuzz boxes and a Boss HM-2. The biggest complaint I've heard in reviews is a lack of routing options but I don't need to run complicated signal paths. Is the Pod Go a Boogie Triple Crown? Nope. Does it offer killer tones for 1/4 of the price of a Helix or Kemper? Yep. If you like spending tons of money and spending all day programming get one of those. If you want killer tone and simplicity, get a Pod Go. Thanks for the video and all the best from the Bay Area! MK

Have you ever hit the dsp limit ? Or feel like the dsp on the pod go isn't enough ?
@mksounds63263 жыл бұрын
@@saltyhose8257 I've seen reviews on the limited DSP and from my experience I've never hit the wall. The wah pedal, volume pedal, and an EQ are on every preset, which you can use or turn off, in addition to the amp and cab model which you can also turn off (like turn off the cabinet if you're using your own cabinet). There is a noise gate on the input signal that you can turn on/off that does not take up an effects spot, so that still leaves four more spots to add your own effects. I don't use a crazy amount of effects all the time a la Gilmour, but I usually run a reverb and some delay and distortion or not depending on the tune. I can't imagine how hard I'd have to hit it to max the DSP but I'm sure it can be done. I just haven't done it yet with my playing. MK

I think it sounds great! I'm a tube amp guy and use an HX effects and love that in 4cm. I've been looking at this for a home studio/practice rig. Also, I know for some the name POD kinda has a stigma to it from the old bean. But, that would be the same as judging a VHS for its video quality.

how does this effect compare to the pod hd500x ? because i can't seem to find the pod go where i live and should i go with the hd500x or wait for this to be available ?
@AD1978leo3 жыл бұрын
I'd wait it out. This is new and will have updates in the coming years. It's basically a stream lined Helix. Also this allows 3rd party IR's now I've never tried them but everyone says that's where it's at and will wake this little unit up.

But why they make all these units so complicated. And next to a great valve amp with a kick ass distortion threw the clean chanel cranked. I mean there all usless any way
@penoyer792 жыл бұрын
It depends on what you're doing. if you're playing a Gibson Les Paul Standard through a $3000 Boogie rectifier or a JVM800 stack, than yes a Pod Go is probably going to be absolutely useless for you. but if you're just a bedroom player on a budget playing a $600 Epiphone through a Blues Junior... then a $500 Pod Go is probably going to go a long way.

Line 6? No thanks.
@TyDie853 жыл бұрын
Line 6 Spider amps are garbage. But they do actually make some decent things. Their original POD was highly used by normies & major bands. Hell, even the Helix is really good. Seems you're not being objective about this. Are there better pedals? Yea, of course. But the price of this helps more poor musicians access a quality pedal. If you have tons of money, great, buy whatever you want. But this seems like another version of "xbox vs playstation" in guitar form. No hate or anger intended in this. Just giving a calm opinion :)
@zionrodman64093 жыл бұрын
That's fine. Pod go is pretty great though. Amp models sound great and for the amount of amps,effects, and features you getfor 450, you can't beat it.
