Line and Wash | Painting a Windmill with Watercolour and Pen

In this week's video, I sketch this windmill from Cley-Next-The-Sea in Norfolk in watercolor and pen. I use a uni-pin fine liner pen to make the sketch in my Moleskine watercolor sketchbook, then use watercolours to add the wash.

For this project, I used Windsor and Newton Professional Watercolours in Payne's Grey, Quinacridone Gold and Permanent Alizarin Crimson.

Hello Lou just found your channel and just what I was looking for. I recognised the location straight away as been to Cley on many occasions birdwatching. I have only been dabbling with sketching and watercolour for a few years so never sketched when up in North Norfolk but it must be a fantastic location for it. Look up Peter Sheeler and Charles Evans on YT.. they taught me skies. Once you learn the tricks they are actually quite easy. A flat brush really helps. Use the largest brush you can in the space you have.
