Line6 HX FX VS Eventide H90

B has a wider stereo image to my ears on my monitors/phones, but no idea which is which😀 If I had to guess I'd say B is H90

Thanks for the comparison. I picked 'B' as the Line 6 - If you listen carefully, you'll notice a drop off in high frequency response of 'B' vs 'A'. This is the same issue I noticed when i pulled the HX Stomp off my board and the tone came to life. Making the jump to Eventide for this reason alone - L6 has excellent products but I can't shake the tone loss experience (audience will never notice the difference. It's just my goofy brain...)

Well the funny thing is that 99% guesses wrong.. A is actually the HX and it indeed sounds cleaner than the huge rack. I sold most of my rack after this video series coz the Line6 is good enough.

Another excellent video! I’ll venture and guess that B is Eventide… However, both sound decidedly excellent so to me it quickly becomes a question of 600€ vs 1400€ (the HX Effects is AMAZING value). Moreover, I’ve always been of the opinion that if you use your effects in parallel, it’s all about the character and feel of the effect, as the pure, unadulterated signal is always coming through (e.g. I LOVE the reverb in my ancient Lexicon Alex, but would never use it in series). However, if you live in a series world, the issue is MUCH more complex… and the advantage that Eventide tends to have in this application might make it worth the extra spend.

can you give us more infos on your rack tones for Helix? there's absolutely nothing in the description. How many blocks? which kind of block styles,...? Not talking about Parameters, just pure content.

@@AlexisGitarre the preset has all the blocks you need to make the complete rack tones. One block for chorus, one for Detune, one for reverb and two blocks for delays. Circular and Pan Delays. It works with every version of Helix fra native to HX FX.
