This is the superficial Linear Algebra that is taught to engineering students and maybe CS majors. To anyone that is truly curious, I recommend you learn Proofs and then learn Linear Algebra again from the proofs perspective. Linear Algebra is really important, it is the foundational language used in AI, many engineering disciplines, Computer Vision, Graphics, and perhaps most importantly Quantum Mechanics.
@mawkuri54968 ай бұрын
no you dont
@j_r288 ай бұрын
Well not if you just want to revise it after years, or if you are not from the engineering background. For example I'm 4th year CS major. I learnt this in 1st year. I don't have to neither do I want to learn it from scratch, just as a refresher, even these 6 hours are a lot. But I can skip and cherry pick. And for people not from engineering background they won't understand proofs anyway, they would be more interested in the applicable gist.

A good introductory course for beginners who have no idea what vectors and linear equations are. But as most of the engineers already took it at High School, you could go through it quickly. I found it more beneficial to read through the topics rather than going through the videos as it helped to revise the entire thing in an hour. It should be easy to follow!!

I dont understand how at 3:21:06 the simplification of (r - s)*(r-s) is equal to rr - sr + ss - sr, how did this happen? Im trying to make sense of it like take the first letter from each bracket, that would explain rr - sr + ss, but then sr at the end doesnt make sense with this logic, will I be correct in assuming the order is whats confusing me? so for example if I write it as rr - sr + rs - ss I can see it making sense, but is it correct? This is really confusing to me I need the logic to be explained as to how we came up with this simplification

Thank you very much for that free course. At the moment I am at 2:36:04 and everything seems fine and clear, but I got some questions for clarity. Why is your equal sign on the vectors looking like a "Z", is it without meaning or is there a specific purpose? Why you call "Beta" ---> "B", was it just a miss pronunciation?
