ORIGINAL INFO: A story of talking rocks, magic green train lanterns, and the man who could only be stopped by a stick!
RUMINATIONS: So now that the Entity stuff was done with, I had to figure out what to do with Dr. Linksano. The character was a villain and I really didn’t have any more hijinks in mind for another humorous storyline, so he needed to have a reason to be around. It occurred to me that Dr. Insano served as a kind of technical and scientific advisor for Spoony, thus Dr. Linksano could be reformed and work for the good guys, especially since Linkara didn’t really have anybody on hand to do science stuff for him. He usually just did the science stuff himself, but sometimes you need your main character to have stuff exposited TO them.
And this introduces the cybermats into things! I’m obsessed with the little creatures, have been since I was a little kid watching Doctor Who. Always wanted a toy for them, too, and the bump-and-go one is OKAY (would have certainly made me happy as a kid), but it seems baffling to me that even though the EPISODE where the modern cybermat premieres features the Doctor using one with a remote control, there hasn’t been a remote control version of it. I’ve been trying to create a perfect one ever since then. The closest is one seen in more recent episode that was thanks to both Featherweight and an awesome fan who did robotics and remote control stuff. It’s still larger than I’d prefer it be, but it does a crap-ton of cool stuff, so I’m still grateful.
