It does! It's gotten better over the years by stopping every five live-action recordings and taking a break, sitting down and drinking water for a bit. When I first started, my voice would be strained for several days afterwards. Now it's just like half a day afterwards and it's fine.

He doesn't understand the words. He just recognised the fear and desperation in the guard's tone of voice and realised it was a cry for mercy.

To be honest: my experience with The Mummy is limited to the two Brendan Fraser films (There’s only two and the Rock had a pointless cameo). So it’s either Mummies are very strong or Terribly fragile. I really need to see the original film for answers. Perhaps even the Comics.
