You know, I'm not really a huge 'Elm Street' fan, but for some reason I keep thinking about this comic. It really frustrates me because it's so clear that it COULD have been better, with just two major changes, and I keep thinking of what wasted potential it is. Like, all they had to do to make this story make more sense and be a lot more compelling is: 1. Don't have Freddy straight-up tell Claire "Yes I want you to tell all your friends about me so I can become more powerful and kill them all!". Don't let the teens know (or believe) the reason why the adults are trying to hide information about Freddy from them. Make it seem, from the teens' perspective, like the adults are trying to cover-up information about this supernatural killer and keep them awake for no good reason. So they might reasonably suspect that the adults working WITH Freddy and they need to reveal this conspiracy and make people believe them - when in reality all of this makes them play right into Freddy's hands. This makes the title of the comic makes more sense (the teens' **Paranoia** and distrust of their parents is what motivates them to spread knowledge of Freddy), and it makes the whole "but what if I'm not afraid of you" moment makes more sense. Since it's less "Claire just says she's Not Afraid and she's magically Immune to Freddy" and more "Claire finally figured out that Freddy has been manipulating her this whole time and now she realized what she ACTUALLY needs to do to stop him" 2. Don't have the stupid bullshit Happy Ending Override. Defeating Freddy by having a whole crowd of teens laugh at how Lame he is might be a *bit* cheesy - but it's actually a great resolution. The adults in the teens' lives saw their only two options as "controlling, drugging and hiding information from their kids" - or "risk their kids being brutally murdered". Maybe it's understandable why they decided to do what they did, but it's also quite terrible to their kids, and it's also understandable why the teens wanted to go against it. And having them find a third option, revealing Freddy to the world and making him a laughingstock? That's GREAT. It's great as a show of competence for the kids, it's good thematically and it's fun that it's basically Freddy's plan horribly backfiring on him. And then they decided to snatch it from them for......... no reason? They could have had like a single ominius panel showing Freddy might Return without screwing over the main characters like this.

Maybe a dumb explanation but passing out? Bad sleep and staying up can really mess with you. Maybe he was so tired he passed out. As you said with Crazy Steve, staying awake would hurt and you can't not sleep as eventually your body forces you to sleep against your will so you don't die. Also, the kid being attacked could work if they explained he subconsciously feared Freddy and didn't really know it. The subconscious can be very squirrelly. Maybe I'm thinking too deep.

Locking up a number of unkillable movie slasher and monsters would be an interesting premise and way to deal with them. Would make a great crossover maybe something like a special prison facility made to contain them though I’d imagine somehow they’d get loose hopefully from something clever and not the overused blatant stupidity . Since both this franchise's universe and the original Friday The 13th universe culminate in Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash and its sequel, we know that allowing Freddy to stay in the real world is an extremely bad idea, as if he gets his hands on the Necronomicon Ex Mortis, we're all doomed, and it's canonically been in the possession of Pamela Voorhees (well, in her house) since the end of Evil Dead 2, being used in the brief timespan between the events of ED2 and the first Friday to resurrect Jason and turn him into the thing we discover he is in Jason Goes to Hell (which is when we see the book in the Voorhees house originally), which is some sort of Kandarian ritual zombie thing other than deadites, although related to them. Basically, the only thing that prevented Freddy from winning everything in Freddy vs. Jason is that he never thought to question how the hell Jason existed in the first place.

If you think about it....star trek is bound to create a LOT more ghosts then other scify series, like star wars. I mean borg trauma ALONE would likely turn any soul into a ghost...then you have the dead from Wolf 359(I think that is what it was called) where nearly the entirety of the fleet was wiped out very quickly...then you have the many bloody wars star fleet was in over the years and the "oops" that happens in the show which likely occurs across the fleets of the series....I am being nice when I say the ghosts from star trek alone can probably fill a quadrant alone.

To be fair, Doctor Who actually has set up ghosts quite a bit and went out of its way to make a plot point about some people possessing large amounts of psychic energy, which would probably make them more likely to linger on. Also, while in Star Trek they generally tend to have fairly straightforward conflicts, Doctor Who tends to feature a lot of normal people suddenly being effed up by creepy alien abominations which would probably be a more traumatic death overall than just being blown up with your ship and crew mid-battle. And then there's stuff like Pokemon where one moment you can be a kid walking around the backyard and the next you're being burned to death by a fire-breathing monkey or you're dying through poison or whatever hallucinogenic powder the bug types in the area just happen to throw at you.... Not exactly a pleasant way to go.... Then again, I guess ghost types already are a thing, so maybe that invalidates actual ghosts???

My theory for how this comic ended is that despite the whole "We're not afraid of you, geek!" thing, people at the rally would still have been freaked out by the incident. As much as one can say they don't fear Freddy, they still remember that he can kill people in their dreams and that's pretty scary. With the inevitable regular nightmares inspired by the memories of Freddy's acts, this could quickly culminate in Krueger's power returning. But let me be nice and sparkling clear: this comic still sucks.

In my opinion I think he can enter any dream without fear it’s just the matter of killing. He was able to enter Jason’s dream in Freddy vs. Jason and I highly doubt Jason was scared of him or even knew who he was at the time
