3:32 I actually remember reading this comic as a kid, and for years having no idea that this story was a parody of Paul Schrader's Cat People. Considering how lurid and squicky that film is, I'm kinda surprised that they chose it for their first issue.

Notes from a Horror Movie Extra; I always liked the Simpsons' Treehouse of Horror stuff, it was always a beautiful parody of classic Horror Movies(the Zombie one stick's out to me....). Great review! I actually had this comic years ago! It brought all the memories back! Not entirely sure if I still have it. I still have a LOT of Simpsons comics! Never really threw them away :) Keep up the great videos :)

I feel the _Treehouse of Horror_ comics only started coming into their own with #5. Bringing in guest artists to illustrate stories in their own styles really opened up storytelling possibilities.

While the Simpsons haven't been the best nowadays I do always look forward to their Halloween specials. (which use to be called treehouse of horror. I do miss when it use to be called that) It seems that their comics are pretty fun with their horror based tales too. Good to know.

The Treehouse Of Horror comics get really twisted when they want to. I remember reading an issue where Hans Moleman got exposed to toxic waste and became this really horrific mutant. There was another where the Bart reads a Horror comic about a kid going home to his family and finding out they have become Coraline esq creations, becoming sewn and quilted monsters then Bart thinks the same about his family.

My middle school library had a probably inappropriate amount of simpsons comics in it. Those few of us who actually checked out books from the comics shelf decided what administration didn't know wouldn't hurt them.

Does make me with a little bit for AT4W to do The Simpsons again at some point, I really enjoyed the old Simpsons review. I think it would be cool for someone to patron a review of The Simpsons/Futurama Crossover Crisis, the original crossover of the two properties done at least a decade before the television one.

I actually had an issue of this when I was a kid! I don't remember if Moarte has already covered it, but there was another issue I had where Sideshow Bob turns into a blob monster and Lisa is possessed by the spirit of Madonna.

Kinda sucks we don’t get Simpson’s comics anymore especially the Halloween specials as I feel they do a better job than the new Simpsons episodes, glad to see though that they’re still getting reviews on them as well as LOTD still going strong after so long!

Unpopular opinion maybe, but as much as I still tend to enjoy the Treehouse of Horror episodes, the comics have never been particularly good.
