It's not just about being able to do the 17s scream, but also about how he can sing a clean, high note part right after doing said scream. Damn.
@superme632 жыл бұрын
Yeah, this song really showcases some SERIOUS skill.
@IschmarVI2 жыл бұрын
hitting a clean after a scream is actually not TOO hard if you have proper screaming technique (although it requires some practice after such a long scream). What's SERIOUSLY impressive though is, how good chester was at both screaming and cleans - and the way he made full use of those abilities.

+Paloma Maori It's not as hard as most people think it is to do it, with that style of screaming you restrict your vocal chords in a way to make the sound distorted, and because they're restricted it use's far less air then normal. The REALLY hard part is to do that, and then hit a high strong clean note directly after, because your vocal chords havn't had a chance to relax and return to normal yet, Thats where the true strength of his singing is

Man, his vocal performance. Fuckkkk man. That really was the voice of an Angel, I mean... it’s so goddamn hard singing the way he did, and he did that all the time, with this level of energy and control? You kidding??? I also love how this song excels on multiple levels. In terms of metal it’s a perfectly valid banger. It’s one of the quickest energy infusions I know. And in terms of lyrics, it really is one of the best songs perfectly describing what living with depression and suicidal thoughts is like. Which is pretty disturbing to say now, but thinking back when I first heard this and Leave Out all the Rest I thought “oh, whoever wrote this actually gets it”. This is one of the last songs I ever heard that was about something real, and not written to appeal to an audience. Thanks, LP.
