Bravo Millie. I'm 63, was bullied as a young teen, and there are times it still affects me to this day. You are doing right by yourself talking about it, and receiving therapy. You CAN learn to live with it. It took me a long time to come to terms with it doing it on my own. Bravo young lady. ALWAYS find someone to talk to.

The scene in the video where Chester is on the edge of a rock face screaming the chorus into the air is perfect. How many of us feel that exact same way at times. Sadly, music wasn’t able to help him heal in the long run. Being a guitar player, for some 40 years now, I’ve always connected more with guitar parts, tone, layers of sound, chord progressions and such, and never really listened to the lyrics much. But this one… yep. They’re so approachable for anyone, and easy to connect to, the power behind them serves as the vehicle to deliver them right to your soul. When my mom was in hospice, dying of cancer, this song came on in the car on the way home. And at 53, watching that, I’m still not entirely clear if any of it matters in the end.

the way mike's lyrics aren't like.. rephrased in a way to fit the song, feels like it's literally from his mind to the song, yet its relatable and how its so genuine makes it more relatable.. it's like i feel most of the lyrics, especially the way he explains "you wouldn't even recognize me anymore, not that you knew me back then"

alot of linkin park's songs have very deep but sad lyrics and (for me, i never realized this until after Chester's death..) were Chester's way of crying out for help about his depression and mental health. you said linkin park's lyrics were the most relatable to you and the bullying you unfortunately had to go through, i am so sorry you had to go through that.. i am so happy you are in a better place now and that you are opening up. takes alot of guts to do that. and even though you don't have to tell us, thank you for doing so. you opening up and talking about it in your videos can help encourage viewers to do the same. that alone can help others more than you realize.

One of those songs I listen to when I am beat down, broke, and depressed. Music can be interpreted in so many ways. From experience I know it saves people from the brink of the end. It won't change your reality or circumstances but will give you a little push forward and give you that rush of feeling and hope that gets you through til tomorrow. You set your expiration date and then get something to push it further. Just beautiful.

Since you asked for recommendations, I would like to recommend my favourite band The Prodigy. Being from the UK, you might be familiar with them, but also you are young and they peaked in the mid 90s, so you might have missed them. They sadly lost their iconic vocalist, Keith Flint, in very similar circumstances to how Linkin Park lost Chester, just under a couple of years after Chester sadly left this world. Also, Mike Shinoda paid tribute to Keith after he passed away and cited The Prodigy as one of his early influences. The two bands also toured together when Linkin Park invited The Prodigy to support them for a US tour back in 2010. Musically, and especially lyrically, they are very different, with The Prodigy being an electronic band that focuses on the instrumentals and rarely having lyrics that have any specific meaning. However, their music is meant to be a form of escapism and works very well for that purpose. In case you are interested, I can recommend a few of their iconic tunes, and you can pick one. The most obvious, to which most people first react is Firestarter from 1996, with it being the debut on vocals for Keith Flint, who was just a dancer for the first 5 years of the band. The other one is Breathe from the same year, which is arguably their best tune and which also features the band's other vocalist Maxim, who had also previously recorded studio vocals for 1 track back in 1994, but he's the MC of the band, so he had plenty of experience with vocals. Last but not least, something from a later era - Omen from 2009, which was the first album track since Breathe to feature both vocalist, but this time they were harmonising, which was something new for the band. I guess this is enough information and I hope I didn't bore you if you managed to read the whole thing.

First of all hats off for choosing this piece of beautiful art to react to. And to be honest with you me personally and many of us along this very short period of physical dimension experience on earth within a human form is going through individual experiences. We don't know who we are; where we came from; or where we're going afterwards. That's the beauty of life we're here and now at the absolute present moment in the vast ever expanding Cosmos. Just be great full each day to that higher intelligence(God/Universe or whatever the name you prefer give to it) for making this happen. Stay humble, be great full, enjoy each moment regardless of whatever the drama happening around....after all it's all a drama and we're unconsciously or consciously playing our part. Always remember The beauty, miracle and truth of life will begin to unfold whenever we start to play our part consciously. We're as a whole in the same journey but different paths. Stay persistent, eventually you'll realise the ultimate truth and when you crystal clearly realised it then>>> you'll know that " In the end nothing else matters". One love🙏

relating to lyrics and the way they deliver is why so many people over the years have been touched in some way by Linkin Park. R.I.P. Chester wrote it while dealing with the death of his best friend Chris Cornell and his own depression.

So often, when I hear Chester's voice, I feel the loss, as if he had died yesterday. His lyrics had a pathos that few can equal. My family had long wanted to see Linkin' Park, but something always got in the way. Finally, we determined that we were going to go, that nothing would get in the way. We bought excellent seats and couldn't wait for the wonderful experience that we had waited so long for. Then Chester committed suicide. There was to be no concert. I guess that something got in the way.

Having faced bullying numerous times growing up, I found it surprising to later learn that bullies are actually cowardly individuals. They seem so incredibly tough, especially to their victims, but deep down they are cowards for what they do. And I think the best outcome is just what you said- now they wouldn’t recognize you because you’re a much stronger person.

back in the day it was kinda hard for people to accept this hybrid genre..rap-rock, kid rock, limp bizkit, linkin park etc, but they were still listening to it, haha, I mean in the 1980's it was experimented with where rappers and rockers would make a song together (Walk this way or Bring the noise for example) but the genres was still pretty separate, so in the late 90's things got really interesting in music, so many bands with a unique sound and powerful lyrics, there's an album called the Buzz Album that came in a 2CD..buy that if you can find it..wait, never mind, it's 2023..
