Man he should have seen a therapist or somebody about what he was feeling inside of him! People can overcome what they're feeling! Even children! And they have! And to me Chester was one of a kind! A powerhouse singer! And this song proves that! And also I believe he is/was the greatest singer I have ever heard! Rip Chester

Some people just accumulate so much emotional baggage. It's not their fault, and many people do their best to support, but sometimes in life, heroes die fighting. It's not the result that defines them. It's the entire journey, including all the bravery of fighting in the first place.

it's been a long time but i stumbled upon this reaction and you are the first out of all who says "he's crying for help". finally someone says it. i suffer from depression myself since almost 10 years now and what he's singing is the perfect expression of this disease and the (mostly silent) cry for help. thank you!

Crazy thing is, this song isnt actually about that, i know the lyrics may seem that way, but he stated multiple times he wasnt behind the song he really wanted to have a song that they could change their sound and show they werent just numetal, and this album was a big change for them, they lost so many fans for it, but to me its still their best album overall, but the song isnt him suffering, it was about the fans who would come to him about his music changing their life and saving them, and he wrote the lyrics so they could scream it together and let all the emotions out, and the reason it was so emotional was due to how much he really took that fans found help in their music, now we all know why he truly took that to heart, sadly we werent there to save him like he did for so many, but he was not writing the lyrics for him, its crazy it can end up fitting it, but it was meant as a way for them all to scream together in a way that would be positive even though the lyrics arent positive. The one song he was fully invested in emotionally was one more light becuase of when the lead singer of soundgarden that chester was very close to and looked up to killed himself, that song was how he felt about it and how people would see his suicide as just another light gone out and not truly realizing that something like that affects many and it isnt just one more light that fades out, but if you listen to that song, its the one song he gave everything mentally and emotionally. and i think it may have been released as a single around the time before he took his own life, and the suicide of chris was a major reason he ended his life as well, obviously, he had fought with mental illness and other problems, but once chris took his own life it destroyed him and its very evident in the lyrics and vocals and is a massive departure from other songs theyve done, but many turned on linkin park on the album this song is from, which isaround 3 or 4 albums before their final one thats named after the song one more light. i know this isan old reaction but i figured someone might be interested knowing in those details, which i wontsay i perfectly explained it, im sure i messed some details up but the song truly isnt about him, and as dark as the lyrics are, its meant for a release for those who have suffered and found hope in their music, especially kmowing chester was outspoken about mental health and the stigma that it brings that causes people to not get the help they need and it costs them their life

Chester had been an incredible singer, and if all he did is sing beautifully, ironically, he may not have achieved so much. He and the band did so much more than sing and play-they expressed. A lot of teens used to think their music had been edgy just for the money and fame, because surely, nobody could possibly feel so much pain. If you've been through tough emotional times, you can really tell, they did. It's terrifying once you accept it's all real, but comforting to sufferers, discovering that they're not alone.

O.K. pretty lady some free advice, hang on to your headphones, Chester is getting ready to rip it! I read a comment on another site where the person said they had seen Linkin Park AND Chester did that scream for 17 seconds and the crowd went wild. Millie I agree with you in that this song is a cry for help!!!!! Mr. Alice Cooper spoke about Chester and Chris Cornell. Alice has been in the business for over one-half of a century. He has seen a lot!!!! He simply said "Man just go get some help." Rock solid advice from an old pro..... Meanwhile, please take care of yourself and ROCK ON!!!!!!!!!!!!! @@jeffdugger3276 the people dealing with that have already said that Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington had nothing to do with that stuff. Chester's sexual abuse happened long before he ever became famous. The person who did it to him was someone who he thought was a friend and who was also the victim of sexual abuse. Chester tried to commit suicide in 2016 but obviously didn't succeed at that point.
