Nintendo are clueless, instead of copying Microsoft with their Game Pass to offer better services and a games library for a fixed monthly cost they decide to release another crappy version of the Switch no one asked for. It's a good thing for them the Switch hasn't been massively hacked (yet, unless you have a unpatched v1) or you'd have people just turn to piracy, for old and existing games.
@Sharkcomet3 жыл бұрын
I think Nintendo genuinely is completely disconnected from the public more than any console maker. Like how they used to copyright strike youtubers for literally playing and promoting their games to a wide audience. While companies like EA pay you to play their shitty new game, Nintendo is actively attacking the livelihood of people who literally do free advertisement campaigns. The only reason they are still in business is the wide casual appeal and all the soyboys who only play zelda mario and pokemon.

17:05 - One tiny nitpick, Sega actually DOES sell roms for the Genesis. Everyone should be like Sega. Makes no sense for Nintendo to be draconian about emulating most of their old library, while not even offering any purchase options. Then again, they still have hardware they wanna sell.
@videogamerNattie982 жыл бұрын
Yep Sega embraces emulation despite there questionable development/business decisions across the years this is actually one of there few strong suits I kind of have to agree with them on. They even provided an emulator with a really neat front loader that has quite a bit of presentation but incase you don't like that the purchase comes with the Roms so you can emulate the games on an emulator of your choosing. The reason this is a great decision is no matter how much time passes you can buy Roms from them and play on the many emulators that still get updated to this day allowing the games to remain available no matter how much time passes. I am not a Sega fan but on one hand its like I get that it wont continuously make money like a monthly system but with Sony and Nintendo taking the monthly pass route as a only option makes it hard to buy a game for keeps. Sony have pulled games off there store just to prep making a pass system with them with PS Plus and with Nintendo the WiiU was your only other legitimate option for N64 games is going away with the only option now being the Expansion pass on top of losing one of the only ways to get legitimate games for Wii and back. Its just now game preservation is in a real bad spot and emulation is turning into the only way to play some of these games simply because the other companies wont provide valid options that's not at the mercy of a payment system or is simply a sinking ship that will be left under the waters for a indiscriminate amount of time.

@@rondamgemas8638 Being too expensive falls under unreasonable, but only for games that are not available for purchase anymore. You can't just decide that a brand new AAA game isn't worth $60 to you and go pirate it. Decades old games that collectors have decided are worth hundreds of dollars can and should be pirated. There is definitely some grey area though, specifically with Nintendo never reducing the price of their games. Is Breath of the Wild still worth $60 4 years later? I would argue no, but I also wouldn't give it a free piracy pass either. Unfortunately there is no way to partially pirate a game, and Nintendo won't lower their prices so if they lose sales to piracy I'm not losing sleep over it.

I think Valve sent out a brief that gave some information to large publishers before the announcment. When they provide this information, there is whats called an embargo, that compells the publishers to keep it secret until the official announcement. This gives publishers a chance to prepare a response, so that there is a big media push when the announcement is made. I don't know 100% if that was case here, but I thought it was a smart video to be timed with the Steam Deck
@tams8053 жыл бұрын
People are hyping up the Steam Deck so much, that it's inevitably going to be a disappointment. You can buy these things now, for very cheap. The smallest will fit into most pockets and the others will fit into big pockets or take up little space in a small bag. A Steam Deck is not going to do any of that.

The old PSP (100x models) are still really good audio players (without considering lack of lossless codecs support) because they have a wolfson DAC, like older iPods etc.
@LuLeBe2 жыл бұрын
Maybe. But for those who think they can even hear the difference with whatever headphones they're using on the Bus, maybe just connect an audio interface to your macbook, seems about as portable and the battery lasts longer :D Or get that old ipod instead. Few things to add, is there is another version of the RG351 that is in a vertical formfactor similar to something like the game boy color, and it has a 4:3 screen and only 1 analog stick so that is another very good option for those interested (RG351V). There is another company that makes good products with the same cpu, Powkiddy with the RGB 10 (3.5") and the RGB 10 Max (5") includes wifi unlike the Go Super, so that is another option to take a look at. another thing is most of these have many OS that can be installed that each have their pros and cons depending on what you are looking for out of them. Lastly, Don't pick these up for N64, PSP or Dreamcast, as while some games do run most will not run well. Overall they are a great thing to have if you want to revisit some old systems on the go!

I took 3 classes that dealt with UCC title 17 (it may go under another number outside the US) and of course the Home Recording Act made only part of what I learned in college obsolete. It makes it legal to make backup copies of copyrighted material you have already purchased provided you keep the original. So I have backup copies of the software I bought on DVD or CD and of course Steam lets me re-setup any games it either gave me for free or I have purchased. Glad to see you are not condoning piracy but pointing out that backups of things we already own are perfectly legal. (Oops. I left out the word "title" the first time.)

@yearoftheox52223 жыл бұрын
@@worstperson2ask still a compromise compared to the other handhelds at the time.
@reichstein0113 жыл бұрын
PSVita official memory cards were a product killing compromise. I filled my card pretty quickly which dramatically reduced my enthusiasm for buying more games. Buying another card was way too expensive, and having to backup and reinstall games was a real pain. Couple this with the nearest shop selling physical games being about an hour away and I pretty much stopped buying games. After Sony declared the console dead I installed custom firmware and got an adapter to use normal micro SD cards. So much better! Sony's decision to cripple the console with massively overpriced memory cards had to have had an impact on game sales and likely contributed to the early death of an otherwise awesome portable console.
