Hey everyone! I just wanted to say thank you to Linus, Reece, and the rest of the LTT team for featuring me and my PC build in this video. I've been watching LTT videos for a long time so I'm super stoked to actually be in one of them! And if you're in the area and you need a PC built, feel free to reach out. I'd be happy to help!

This is not so great as you make it sound, it is basically the orphan-crushing machine. A 17 year old forced to work in order to get education when he should just act as a kid. Education, no matter the level, should not cost money, I can't believe how this is a hard concept to get or even a polarizing issue. It should be a right everywhere.

@@BastardWithExtraLives Im 19 and im doing the same thing, its really not as bad as you make it sound. First of all you are gaining knowledge from building pc's this means better cable management and overall better build quality, 2nd of all you are basically making your own business which means tracking expenses and profits therefore preparing you for better budgeting skills. If you wanna call it sad, then by all means you can call it that way but I think of it as a better alternative than getting a part-time job. I agree that college in america/canada should be free (or at the minimum have a loan provided) but the business itself is not an issue in my eyes.
@RedMageGaming
@RedMageGaming 2 ай бұрын
@@BastardWithExtraLives You still have to respect the hustle. Kid is doing something to earn money, it's building experience and skill. Clearly there's room for improvement, and if he keeps at it, not only will he have a good starter fund to make further education easier, but he also has a solid skillset to work with even if his chosen path in education doesn't pan out as well as he hopes. I agree education is more expensive than it should be, but the teachers need a salary, facilities need upkeep and materials need purchasing, and the tax dollars aren't going to cover it all. The real issue is, at least in my opinion, how student loans are the most predatory and unfavorable loans of all.

😂 Ketan's facebook ad actually showed up during the WAN show that was filmed at the Langley house. While linus and luke were complaining about the state of misleading facebook marketplace ads. That's so funny haha. I didn't know that at all. And no, definitely not a scam at all. Funny enough, Facebook does take my ads down every once in a while because they think it's spam though so I can't blame them. What's hilarious is that by using your credit card to get 5% cashback you are making just as good (or better for that matter) of margins on your builds than some real big businesses. Most places are happy with anything more than 5%. Here in the states Grocery stores and restaurants would kill for 5% margins. Most of them are making 3% or less. @@iroccata Winning a lottery is an exception. Amassing large amounts of money requires exploiting others, i.e. a bad heart. The system we currently live in creates people who are selfish and self centered, they are rewarded with more money. This is why you see it in rich people, the system selects those to be richer. This guy is doing something awesome, and not because of his money or free time, but it's his money and free time that ALLOWS him to do it. Without those he wouldn't be doing it, not because he wouldn't want to, but because he would simply not be able to. This is what I'm pointing out. I'm not diminishing him in any way, I'm pointing out how bad is the system we live in, in which not many people are in the position to do the same. I believe there are a lot of people who would do these kind of things, but they simply lack the time and financial stability to do it.

OK, that "professional" builder should be absolutely ashamed of his work. What a horrendous demonstration of lacking proper understanding and not caring about your final product. One thing about teenage engineering: I think the worst part and what makes his build look so untidy is that he went with a "southpaw" orientation for the Peerless Assassin. As someone who owns that exact same cooler, I know that it is actually NOT symmetrical. Meaning depending on the orientation it is installed it either sticks out downwards (Southpaw) or upwards (Northpaw) as gamers Nexus called it. It is absolutely critical that the peerless assassin is installwd northpaw as it helps hiding those cables Routed on top. On top of that it looks cleaner as is while the southpaw orientation not only looks like its "hanging" but especially when wearing with ITX or some mATX boards it can sometimes blocks the topmost PCIe slot so the GPU can't be installed

Hey, pro tip; find a hidden place to place a Data Matrix sticker of a number or other handle with logo beneath it, with some basic instructions; such as: _Scan if found_ or something else to that effect. Good people will disassemble higher-value items like GPUs to replace the thermal compound, and hopefully during disassembly someone finds the sticker, follows the instructions and gives it back to you from the kindness of their heart. Of course, scammers might also do this as a way of exploiting kindness to get back a GPU which _really_ isn't lost, but that's the gamble with being kind; engage and you risk losing your freedom by knowingly obtaining stolen merchandise if you think a scam, refuse to act and guilt may take hold.

The CPU will legitimately get 12900K performance. It's C0 stepping silicon - which is literally identical to the retail 12900K. The only thing you need to do is overclock it yourself, as by default the clock speeds are set lower (4.4g for P-cores, 3.3g for e-cores). These are easily bumped to 5.0/3.7 with minimal tweaking... even using Intel XTU with H610/B660/B760 chipsets (ie. don't need a Z series board). Having said that, it's more for an enthusiast/tinkerer than a casual PC gamer/user... $190usd to for a 12900k is pretty decent though!

I mean, yeah. The Hobbyist was obviously extremely cool and deserved the win, but not everybody is in a situation he is in. And in the situation that "Teenage Engineering" was in I think he did a great job honestly. Don't forget, he is only 17, has obviously from what was said at the end a lot more workload (as he did way more PCs at the same time) and also needs to keep some money after the PC is done as he wants to SAVE MONEY through this. I think he should probably do a bit more work on his Software-Side of building the PC (mostly with Fan-Setup) which could improve the first impression of his system a lot (and be less complicated for people who don't know how to configure fan-curves). There is room for improvement with his system but I still hope he continues to have fun with this, get's his money together and maybe starts learning more and more and improving with every system he builds.

If you’re doing it for yourself, yes, especially since you’ll be able to follow your own “system” later. If you’re building a PC for someone else, that means at some point someone other than you is gonna have to work with it.

Yeah exactly, you don't see it once the panel is on anyways so what's the point?

@@CanIHasThisName And what did you find hard and incomprehensible in the back of Ketan's build? And he chose quality parts for exactly the reason that no-one will have to work with that in a long time.

I have so many cables on mine (even though it's a nzxt h710, so kinda big) that I just shoved everything there and forced the panel 😅

I do the same thing building pcs as a side hussle, I usually charge about 120-150$ and I build the pc with the owner to show him how it’s done, it’s a lesson more than a build but it’s cool!

Man, what the "Hobbyist" is doing is something I've wanted to do for a long time and I wish I had started doing it during Covid instead of just investing in building up a server rack and costing me money to scratch that itch, lol.
