Incredible! A few days ago I was successfully configured the integration of Newsboat and Qutebrowser to open videos in MPV. It is working very well. Now I am trying to open videos ands audios in MPV from the Ranger releasing the window (currently it is busy after the video opens).

Having subtitles automatically added to an assisted reader would be *excellent*! I'm working on a system of FLOSS language learning apps, and I've had that feature in mind for a long time. So glad to see other people thinking the same way, and that they've chosen to hack a custom solution in the meantime! #inspiration

Thanks Kim. I figured out how to get it working yesterday actually. It's nice to be able to press a key in KZbin and have the video (or audio) + cleaned up sub text add to a brand new LWT entry for study. What apps are you working on?

Any clue how I could make it so that on Windows, the youtube-dl command opens up in a command prompt window like you have for your terminal instead of just running in the background and not showing me any output?

In 2024 it's *yt-dlp* instead of youtube-dl. Also, nowadays one needs a premium account to use the Download feature on YT.
