I've had my fair share of football debates with family and friends over the years about the whole 'Messi or Ronaldo' GOAT argument. I've always said Messi is the best simply because he doesn't dive, he doesn't have a hissy fit if he doesn't get a penalty or not, and his natural talent for the sport is seriously insane. I almost cried watching this, just because of how good he really is. Ronaldo doesn't come close in my opinion

Truly a blessing that I got to see Messi play in his Chicago charity match but not only that we were staying in the same hotel as him & caught wind that he would be in a certain area of the hotel & we rushed over, it was only media, Messi & his crew & security etc. they cleared all the rest of the guests out & me & my friend hid in the bathroom right outside where he would be walking when we headed the commotion we came out. Was within 10 ft of Messi & my friend yelled “love you Messi” & he glanced over & smiled & kept moving, there were a lot of cameras around so he was trying to get out. Think he was glad to hear from a fan rather than reporters/paparazzi. Maybe that’s normal for Europeans but as an American jt would be tough to see him play in the US much less get within a couple of meters away from him without at the very least leaving the country

Bit late, but Messi suffered from Growth Hormone Deficiency as a child, also known as Dwarfism. He wasn't growing properly due to lack of growth hormones. His family struggled with payments for the treatments (hormone injections), and at first they asked Newell's, his club at the time, if they could help pay for it. They declined, saying they weren't able to provide that. He went to River Plate for a trial later on, they wanted him to join and agreed to pay for his treatment, but Newell's wouldn't let him leave for nothing. Barcelona came along a little later and they offered him a spot at their academy, La Masia, and to pay for his treatment. He was 13 when he arrived in Barcelona and had injections from age 13-15. There are ignorant people who like to claim it's some sort of HGH doping, when in really it was medically required treatment for dwarfism, which Messi suffered from as a child. He lacked the correct levels of growth hormones in the first place, so it was only ever to get to the the levels that other kids already had.
