Wow, this is some great footage. F units, SD 40-2's, caboose and no graffiti. Like going back in time.

That's very creative cinematography with closeups of the wheels, the trucks, knuckles on the coupler, etc.

When that hot TOFC train blasts by the camera I get the chills.

LOL try being there in the winter those little snowflakes picked up and pulled along with the train feel like a million tiny razorblades when they hit bare skin! If you're that close you're a dedicated railfan and you'll actually enjoy the sting!😆

@@alvinmorris5404 As a freight conductor, if you're "that close", please back away from the tracks. You should not be that close. I love railfanning but it's a problem when you become a hazard to the crew.

For anyone watching this for nostalgia like me, I recommend a promotional film BN put out in the '80s or early '90s called Train 110. It had this sort of feel to it as it tracked a single carload from Washington to Chicago. Interviewed a bunch of people along the way- engineers, dispatchers, carmen, MOW, everyone whose craft that carload touched on its way. I watched it about once a month growing up. Don't know where its available.

the camaro(F) body was assembled at 2 locatons. Norwood,Ohio(good reputation for quality)and Van Nuys, Ca. the van nuys plant was at the time THE worst quality plant in all of GM. so, what did GM do? ,,,,they closed norwood and moved production to van nuys! in sep/oct of 1973 i took a tour of the Norwood plant.

Refreshing to see someone do anything besides look at her phone when paused while driving. Very naturally beautiful girl. She’s probably in her 70s now. Time flies.

A little colour correction would do a lot to this. Turn down the blue component. Now the engines look like Montana Rail Link.

Several of my friends caught trespassers climbing on train cars in Zanesville, Ohio with their photographer (notorious for trespassing in illegal areas for "perfect shots" to make money) taking the photo of them endangering themselves. The photographer was banned from Ohio Central Railroad yard.
