Traditional strength training exercises challenge one axis through a stable range of motion. That's great, but it also won't prepare you to exert force, balance, and exhibit general movement intelligence in the vast network of potential affordances your body could have anatomically. What if you want to have much more freedom and access to what your (lower) body is capable of?
Enter organic strength training. Rather than simply adding load to a movement like a barbell back squat, we'll create a demanding situation that requires us to exhibit the qualities we want to develop. In this case, we'll use a partner to create situations we've often never thought of, used, or developed. The partner, in this exercise, will give us tasks and challenges in 5 main categories (described in the video) to use our balance, mobility, strength, as well as the movement intelligence to put it all together efficiently and effectively.

do you have any suggestions to get straighter knees if you have knock knees. I know that it's not necessarily a bad thing, but I do think it impacts the way I train for my first back flip.

Look into some of the GOATA exercises, I’ve found them rather useful for rehabbing my foot arch and strengthening my knees ( also straightening them )

Hello Bren! I am really fascinated from this movement philpsophy and want to dive into this practices but... i torn my ACL and damaged my meniscus 2 years ago, no surgery + a lot of physical inactivity(since the tear). Now i started to build up my muscles again and train my fascia. I heard a lot bad things about ligament reconstructions, so i decided to go on without surgery and take the "natural way" of healing. do you think it is ok to start things like this? (stuff like locomotion, deep squatting...) And whats your opinion on trsining with an ACL tear? Also thank you for your videos, they are really helpfull! This movement thing is such a complex topic, it can really overwhelm beginners like me haha

@@BrenVez If someone is not strong enough to do push ups for two minutes continuously, would you recommend cutting down the time or doing an easier push-up variation?
@justsomehumans1242
@justsomehumans1242 Жыл бұрын
I would think use easier pushup variation. Wall pushups and incline pushups. That will help them get more work in.
