I really like this quilt Miss April. Fantastic example of how to use large pieces to show off super cool prints. I do not use binding any more. I cut the backing one inch longer than the quilt and just fold over the one inch. ta da. Looks great and is real easy.

Self binding is coming back in to popularity.. it was an historical technique used in the 18th and 19th centuries. It saves fabric.

I use this binding technique especially for mug rugs or table runners where there is not to much space to do a bias sewing of the ends.
