While I think it’s sweet Bart and Lisa wanted to reunite marge with her childhood pet, they probably should have gotten more info from petey’s second owner and marge’s mom of why the bird was given away.

It's the most accurate depiction of parrots I've ever seen on TV.

For some reason parrots are almost always misrepresented in movies and shows. They are regarded as stupid loud destructive and not being capable of presenting any other emotion than "being crazy". As I come to think of it birds in general have been very disrespectfully represented in the Simpsons with a few minor exceptions. It’s either the bird is shown as annoying and terrible or it gets killed for no any good reason. Sometimes both. I always get concerned when I see a bird in the Simpsons because of this. I really like the show but that aspect has always bothered me. I guess too many people dislike and don’t understand birds😕

@@Othillde it’s not about “biology lessons” I was talking about incorrect stereotypes that lead to mass misinformation. I am a big time fan of the show, and I always watch it for comedy. It’s just that parrots and birds in general are present as mindless and incapable of any affection in contrast to cats and dogs for instance, which are not so different in fact. For some reason people always call “biology lesson” a piece of information about animals that is just not incorrect… In modern times people have a much better understanding of animals and their behaviour thus I think that there should be a decline of representation such wrong stereotypes.

They need to let Julie Kavner go. She's getting too old to play Marge and it's clearly hurting her voice. 20th Television should recast Marge, because they're being way too hard on poor old Julie.

@@michaelmyers5782 Exactly, should've ended many many years ago. Instead of reusing classic ideas with low ratings.

Aside from her mugger, maybe. Homer is the punching bag, but he's stupid and has a penis, and that makes it okay.

How come nobody is commenting on the fact that they said he was part of a wild flock? he was probably wild for a very long time since he was a pet and so they basically brought a feral animal into their house. I don't really think this is as much of a dig at him being a parrot as people think it is. it doesn't really matter what it is a wild animal that's used to being wild is not going to be friendly to people.
