LISA: DESOLATE EXPANSE MOD RELEASE TRAILER

LISA: Desolate Expanse is a mod created for the game LISA: The Painful RPG, originally released in 2014 by Austin Jorgensen(AKA Widdly 2 Diddly/LoveBradGames).
The purpose of this mod is to add a bunch of features and re-balance the original game to make it something more re-playable and overall a more interesting way to re-experience the original game.

Hey, I have an idea for a mod. If you make Terry take joy in the game he should become a joy mutant in the battle at the end. My reasoning is that to my understanding of joy you become a mutant when you go through immense physical and/or mental pain. Terry is very sad when he tries to stop you.

@@return4590 That’s not really it, either. Once you become exposed or addicted (if we’re treating Hopeful as canon, 2 Joy is all it takes), you’ll mutate either from reaching a state of near death, or crossing a threshold of emotional despair. Not just pain, but mortal pain.

Hey Redguy, I saw your response to another comment asking about painmode, saying that ""you will miss out on things" and was wondering how much/ what kind of content would I miss out on if I played on painmode instead of normal mode? Also wanted to say nice job and I'm excited to play!

Painmode presents different content to normal mode in a lot of cases. I would say also playing normal mode first would be good to get used to all of the tweaks to part of combat (every party member in the game has received them as well as every piece of equipment, as have enemies to be less spongey and the combat feeling faster and punchier) and Pain Mode also has jokes that would really only be funny if you played Normal, as it's been rebuilt and is made to play with your expectations from a first playthrough. It's not the worst thing but my suggestion has always been both to get the best experience. And thank you!

No, DE is pretty much done and has been for a couple of months as I didn't have it in me to work on it anymore. It is a complete mod that accomplished what it set out to do far as I am concerned and maybe one day far off I could do a little more for it. Currently I am working on other endeavors. (Note: The Area 3 location you are speaking of is not a "Snow Base" but just a small village location. Wanted to clear that up)

Yo redguy, if you still read comments, what do you think of separating the pain mode from desolate as a third mode; You have normal mode, pain mode (the normal one that is less painfull, if you dont wanna suffer that much on the desolate one, or you didnt like some of the changes, like almost everyone is a joy addict, or the buzzo moment's where he just fuck you really hard) and the Desolate pain mode you can activate by leaving Terry to die. I think it wold be a little more fair because the desolate pain mode can get really frustating sometimes, so for more casual players that want to play Pain mode, but arent total masochists, the can stick with a rebalanced vanilla pain mode, and desolate stick with the more brutal changes.

The idea of having two seperate pain modes sounds very redundant. And a pain mode that's just about rebalancing defeats the whole purpose of having one. Pain Mode isn't a hard mode. Pain mode is a mode about a different experience meant to both make the world more miserable and laugh at player expectations. That's just how it was made to be done, I have no intentions of changing that.

Its probably just that i am too casual and the pain mode is too harsh to me, but i get your point. And im happy that you responded so fast. Is impressive that you still read comments after 9 months.

@@redisco9598 Thats interesting. one thing that i was thinking after seeing "that" ending from the pain mode was be a fangame about what rando would do after seeing what happened to buddy and brad. But one thing that dont match with that ending is that Buzzo dont have any motives to give buddy joy, he even says in the beggining of joyful that buddy was making a mistake on taking joy.

1. If it is downloaded and extracted into your directory for Painful, it should be working fine? 2. Pardon my asking but what exactly happened? Did you download it and put in the files and it just didn't work? Did you place the files in the right place? 3. And what do you mean "All of your progress is gone." I wouldn't recommend installing something like DE in the middle of a playthrough, as it may have consequences that I have not tested, or did something else happen while you were installing the game? 4. It is very likely as well that if none of these are clicking right, that maybe you installed it in the wrong version of Painful? I know the Definitive Editions launched earlier this year, and this mod is only compatible in the legacy version of the game.

Man im not sure if I like the mod, the extra enemies and areas just add up experience and the vanilla content becomes a cakewalk , I havent tried pain mode yet though

@@Kekadis If you are finding things to be a "cakewalk" then I can only say you are doing a good job. DE's difficulty is more based around the player's progression and learning of all of the different changes and possibilities in combat that exist now, although I don't know where you are in the mod currently.
