She, TO ME, is the greatest vocalist ever. People sleep on her. I wish we had been graced with more music from her but she didn’t want the spotlight. I honestly don’t blame her.

So let's get the record straight. Lisa started singing background for Luther Vandross in 1983 and worked with him for 25 years, up to Luther's death. She, along with the great Ava Cherry, were his featured background performers. This song came out in 1992. She first started working with The Rolling Stones in 1989. With The Rolling Stones she worked sporadically. If you want to know more about Lisa watch the movie "20 Feet From Stardom" in which she is featured. Lisa, IMO, the most underrated female singer and performer of her generation, still performs in and around my native Brooklyn, and is still as beautiful as she ever was.

@@AIKAN74 "The Glow Of Love" album was released in 1979. Lisa in actuality sang back up for Jacques Fred Petrus, not Luther. It's actually questionable if she even met Luther during those sessions, since back up singers on albums lay down their vocals separate from the leads. She didn't meet Luther until a few years later in 1983, whom she met through the mutual acquaintance of choreographer Bruce Wallace. She was Luther's back up singer for 22 years.

The reason she only recorded one album is because her true passion is singing background for headliners such as the Rolling Stones and Luther Vandross. Her first lead vocal was for the studio group The Shades Of Love, with the disco song, Come Inside.

@makingmnz7564

That is correct. She has mentioned it in quite a lot of interviews. Lisa has always stated that background singing is her first love. I've known other people with incredible voices who don't want the spotlight. Check out this guy. He can really sing, but all he wanted to do was graphic design. To me one of the greatest vocal performances and it’s a shame she only did one album hence why she’s not famous. Only one hit song and then decided to become a background singer for Luther Vandross and the Rolling Stones. Love this reaction 💕. Yes! Vocal beast!

She didn't decide to become a backup singer, she was a back-up singer who became a Grammy award winning solo artist. Not everyone wants to be in the limelight. She didn't want it. She preferred being a back-up singer to her famous friends. Luther Vandross encouraged her to pursue a solo career which she did. And there is nothing to it, she didn't want to be in the limelight.

Lisa Fischer was already singing background for Luther Vandross, when he convinced her to record as a solo artist because of her amazing gift. She actually wrote "How Can I Ease the Pain", which was produced by Narada Michael Walden. She won a Grammy and then returned to her preferred career as a background singer for Luther (again), The Rolling Stones and several other well-known artists.

THAT, young Thundercat...is PURE talent!!! Not sure if you were even born when she was out. She has always been more of a backing singer for the GOATs like Luther, Tina and even The Rolling Stones!!! She purposely stayed away from the spotlight because it was uncomfortable for her. But she STILL has it!!! YOU HAVE OFFICIALLY BEEN FISCHERED!!!!😂
