Part 2: I now work from home due to the pandemic; and will be indefinitely. I miss my co-workers, friends and even my commute. I miss getting dressed up and wearing makeup. At the same time, I am grateful to have a job, good health, a beautiful home and money in the bank. My problem is that right now I don't desire anything. I am 60 years old and think that God wanted me to slow down a bit. I am planning a trip to Paris in the Fall, which I do every year. I donated most of my clothes, as well. I'm just the opposite, after almost 40 years of going to an office I am now permanently working from home. I feel like a catepillar that's turned into a butterfly. My office is in my sunroom. I have my own kitchen and bathroom. I Zoom all day with coworkers so I don't miss them. I still shower, put on makeup, and fix my hair. I wake up happy knowing I don't have a commute. My dream is going to France. Unfortunately, my husband doesn't fly.

I moved this past month and a month or so prior I did a huge purge of makeup/skincare and kept only my favorites. It has been so freeing - like a heavy weight lifted off my shoulders...I can hear angels singing LOL. Happiness is a state of mind. I equate happiness with contentment. When we can "tweek" what we sense is off within us we win. I am always happy. It's not being "bubbly" all the time...it's just about being content with myself most of the time. Then she turns around and buys a handful of drugstore lip glosses that she hasn’t even tried and doesn’t like them. Most people would buy one first to see if they like the formula, but a person who’s touting the decluttered lifestyle probably wouldn’t buy any.

I think happiness is not necessarily based on ‘happenings’ but from a deep sense of contentment and appreciation of the good things in our lives. I laughed so hard. Lisa you telling us how you purged and then here comes new lipglosses. I recently purged my alexia storage unit and the makeup in the bathroom. Got rid of so much , I got rid of the alexia ( 9 drawer ikea storage unit for makeup). I just bought the right containers and it was freeing. There was so much I was saving even though I didn’t use it. Or saved the collection stuff. Gone.... no clue why I held on to so much. Lisa I as a follower don’t expect you to buy it all when something comes out. So much more to you then makeup. You look so much happier. I just think you mis speak because you are on a roll. Like you say you like this makeup item then 2 weeks later you say you didn’t care for it. So I think maybe that’s what people might be talking about. Not sure. Loving these videos. I need to purge thru my purses, & clothes, it's hard, because I think how much I pd for the items. I do donate my 5yr old clothes to the nearby grade school that he will be in Kindegarten this yr. I downsized 4 drawers of makeup to one small acrylic cube. Funny how I was using the same 5 or 6 things each day, not even touching the stash. Now I only use what I have, which are my favorites. Just everyday simple makeup. Same with my wardrobe. I adopted a new rule If I havnt worn or used in 6 months, it gets donated Im down to just my favorite items now. I live in cute tops and leggings. No need for gowns, dresses, jeans, tons of jackets, etc. I re evaluated my lifestyle and kept the things that fit my everyday life. If I ever get invited to the ball, i can run out and buy a pretty dress!!

We have been dealing with that all week and the grief is tremendous. I came home yesterday and sat down to rest. I think so many of us started hoarding makeup because the brands expanded and there’s just so many releases I remember when Chanel YSL Lancôme etc had a Spring and Fall launch and all these other brands were not even a thing and not to mention YT! Too much coming out all the time and we want to have that amazing classic must have…I think just cleaning out every Spring and Fall helps and the lighter the load the better you feel and that’s not just makeup but everything in your life if your emotions are feeling heavy and there’s too much going on stop and clean it out go through your inner thoughts and clean out what no longer is needed hit your reset button we are always evolving and changing and growing I think when we hold on to certain thoughts or pains past regrets it just burdens our soul let it go freedom is ours sometimes we have to recognize it in order to work on it but you are your own best friend so accept the advice you would give your dearest friend when they need a pep talk! Recently I did a makeup purge as well. Kind of funny because the first things to go were the urban Decay Naked pallets - sick of them. I fell into that "gotta have each one" until I realized what a waste that was. Funny there are times when I wake up and feel so happy - not the cheesy kind of happy - but something a bit deeper and hard to explain. Even though I am going through a bunch of medical issues, I still feel that some days, not every day mind you, but most. I was talking to my surgeon about my medical issues and he told me as he has been practicing medicine more and getting older has taught him about patience. He then told me about another of his patient and his journey getting through whatever was his issue. That conversation taught me a couple of things - to have more patience with myself and my poor body that has been going through some tough things and healing is not going to happen all at once. The other thing it taught me is that there is always someone else out there that has a problem more serious than yours. He got me through the rest of my day. Love my doctor. He is awesome. As for you Ms. Lisa, I have a book, and my pens ready to start writing, start looking for the good things each day, and being grateful for the things I have. Looking forward to the journey. Connie

I agree with decluttering the makeup. From a subscribers point of view, your makeup applications always looks beautiful, but it almost always look the same. We cant tell the difference when you wear one foundation over another, even the eye palettes look almost the same when they're on!

Lisa my daughter is a Virgo…. She will not throw anything away 😣 for instance? I will give her a bag of clothes and a year later she’ll come over in one of the shirts and I’ll say oh that is so cute where did you get that from😳🤣 and she’s 33 and has her animals from she was when she was little stuffed animals and just everything from when she was a kid she just takes it with her everywhere she goes must be a Virgo thing🤣🤷‍♀️
