it takes me less than 3 minutes to open latest VWs with this pick... i haven't decoded with it yet; but i guess it's the perfect car picking tool.

I can open it fast i just have practiced decoding. I read you have to remember the order I haven't messed around with it yet though

This is a load of carp since when do you turn a key clockwise to open a car or van door and if you were to take the reading it would be wrong as you picked it the wrong way

Some cars rotate clockwise to unlock. Also, a lishi is mostly used to decode locks, so picking it left or right doesn't matter. Any trained professional or even an amateur would notice know that.

your an idiot. you can pick it either direction even if it doesn't open, you can a lot of times get a better read going the other irection

How do you know when to pick up?

How do you know whether to click upwards or downwards?

The easiest way to identify the proper side to pick, is by inserting the Lishi tool and (do not apply tension) go to the first position and you should feel (Springy) if you don’t feel any springiness then flip the pick around. So basically every position that has a springy position means that it’s supposed to be picked and you are indeed on the right side.

No, you would need a lishi tool for every car make for example Toyota ford Nissan Chevy are all different. And for padlocks you need to use the separate padlock Lishi. They are 100% worth it

How do u know if you got push up or down on the solid areas?

It corresponds to the number on the pick. For example the 3 section is on the top of the pick so you push up while 8 is on the bottom so you push down.

@@californialocksmithco On a different for a new auto locksmith as far as stocking up some inventory, I do have remote head keys for late models Camry/Corolla, Dodge Ram 1500, Honda Accord, Ford F150 etc., what other chip regular keys(no remote) a locksmith should stock up that will not cost arm and leg, and good and fast sellers. I am in So CAL big market. Thanks.

Why are some springy and why leave them alone?

When they are springy they aren’t ready to be picked, so you skip those, and only pick the ones that are hard “binding”

Basically the wafer isn’t binding at that moment some wafers bind first depending on depth of wafer etc.

Odd pins are on top and even pins on the bottom. Look close at the lines that match up to the pin numbers and you will see how it works.

You make this look an easy. I just spent an hour on my 2005 Nissan practicing the same pick to no avail. I think I'll try hitting it with some tri-flo. Great video. Thanks for making it!

Your probably overpicking. I can lishi anycar and decode in less than ten min. Execpet vw i havent practiced enoough decoding

@@californialocksmithco Thanks. One year of practice and I'm getting quite good at it. I still struggle a little with Fords that have that secondary spring to it, Pontiacs with sloppy waffers, and anything missing the face cover. But other than that I can get most anything in 3 minute or less. Also, I discovered that Triflo is GREAT for moving parts that need a lasting oil, like panic bars. But Houdini mixture of multiple lubricants works MUCH better for picking. The high viscosity just gives you better feedback.

First time I picked a lock I was just messing around with a padlock and a pen... Never been able to since, but this tool... I actually like this tool. Considering getting one, well, 2... My mom's pretty forgetful and she's getting older too... Figured I can be a call away and be more adorable than the professionals or something ya know? Don't like the idea of her doing like grandma and just leaving the door unlocked because it's not the best neighborhood some years... Others it's fantastic... Depends on the high turnover apartment complexes on the block

This comment reminded me of a time when I was called out on a residential lock out. Once I arrived the customer was upset because he left his keys inside the house with his lock pick set lol. It’s not about owning a lock picking tool and all of a sudden you’ll never be locked out haha. The trick here is having it on you 24/7 until it’s time to use it. That’s when locksmiths come in, we have these tools on us 24/7 🔒🔒
