"Body didn't want to be that weight". I like that statement. 'Biggest' I ever got was about 164lbs for a few weeks, I mostly hovered around 160. I wanted to keep going but I couldn't force feed myself anymore. Then when the weights got too heavy I tore two discs and have been in pain the past 8 years. But, when you're in your twenties, you feel invincible and get 'influenced' not realizing all the damage you're doing inside. Not talking about drugs, but wrecking your joints. I was never meant to be big and strong, wish I had realized that a lot sooner and did more things suited to my body type. Jackie Chan, Jet Li, really any lean, super agile martial artist didn't need heavy weights. Just their skill practice, good food, and calisthenics.
@Mr.Edwards2332 жыл бұрын
Same here in terms of weight. I wanted to be 200lb solid muscle at 5'8, I was so focused on that, but thank god I didn't. Years ago, I saw a guy my height, maybe a little bit shorter was 200lb of pure muscle, he looked horrible, breathing real hard, he sounded like a plane engine. He passed in front of people at a movie theater, they were clowning him that he was compensating for his height. That day, my perspective changed, I didn't want to look that anymore.

Yeah thats a truth i went from 185 competition weight to 240 lbs,i been around 225-240 for about 2 years,and same hard to breathe,getting tired feeling heavy,i increased cardio trainings ,lowered weight lifting and drop to 200 lbs and thats where my body feel great,healthy i literally feel like im 20 again,i stopped doing bodybuilding because it become really bad and unhealthy,guys are dropping like rain
@juniorjames70762 жыл бұрын
I spent my 20s trying to get big, and my 30s and 40s slimming down but staying strong. At the age of 19, I was 5'5, realized that I was always going to be short, but I'd be damned if I was going to be short AND fat, or short and scrawny. But by 35 I decided I didn't have anything to prove to anyone. I have asthma so its important that I remain light, and I picked up indoor rockclimbing/bouldering in my early 40s, and still play pick up rugby once in awhile so my ideal look is "wiry and strong". I'm 50. My co-workers think I'm in my 30s, and many of them are HALF my age with back, joint and knee problems I've never had because I always avoided "sketchy" workout movement. Example: The Good Morning. I have never liked how it looks and felt if could damage your back long term. Never did it. Sure enough, all my friends who "swore by" the Good Morning routine in our 20s, all of them have back problems now in their late 40s. Meanwhile, I'm still rockclimbing.

A very important message within this message is to "know your body". When the doctor say, "you're fine and healthy" and you know you're not , be persistent in having him or her check you out and or get additional opinions. Mr. Glass said several times in this video that he went to the doctor and the doctor told him he was healthy, but he knew better because he was breathing heavy from walking up one flight of stairs. Could this be the case today......doctors are telling the athletes that they are healthy when they are not. I know doctors who tell athletes they are over weight just because the scale does not match with their recommended weight for their height. Doctors rarely take bodyfat into consideration before yelling morbidly obese and diet.
