You're thinking about it wrong. They're all assuming there's some kind of clever calculation going on in Sunak's head to pick the best time for the election from a political point of view. But he has no political instincts and is almost entirely passive, reacting to events. He'll call the election on the last day that he's allowed to do so, because anything else would require him to make a proactive decision.
