This week ( after Kharkiv events ) President Zelenski wrote on X " This weakness is not ours, but that of the world, which does not dare treat terrorists as they deserve for three years " Ukraine needs so much more air defence. And today he called on allies to allow Ukraine to use their missiles to strike military targets in russia.

@user-ze7vb5cx3y Russia exports oil , not petroleum and fuel for jets. Ukraine is only affecting the production of these two products that affect Russias domestic supply. It’s causing inflation in the Russian economy and hurting its military stocks. It is also having the effect of forcing the Russians to defend their oil refineries with air defence systems. Moving them away from the front line.

This language about how NATO "expanded" doesn't make a ton of sense to me. Countries apply to join NATO, usually because they've determined that russia cannot be trusted. NATO doesn't take steps to "expand." For instance, NATO doesn't proactively conquer peaceful neighboring countries. Like some dying empires do when their tsar gets old and crazy...

They are launched from fast jets. These jets need air cover deeper behind lines in order to be within range to deliver this ordnance to a worthy target. Also, there aren’t enough available in the theatre of operations to be flippant with their use . . . . at the moment. Not withstanding the fact that Ukraine are waiting for their pilots to be competent to fly an F16 to the effect needed for complex sorties like this. Watch this space. Try to picture a place called The Kerch Pier. 😉
