The gyroscope ensures that the vehicle remains upright. A two-wheeled vehicle must be able to make an angle of incline. The faster the more inclined more lean angle

Great point. Maybe it alters depending on velocity?

Pre-order it? Yeah, right....it's still in the prototype phase, it's got no mudguards, no rear window, the gyro sounds like it needs alot more of isolation and and and....I wish them luck, I love this thing, I'd even drive it but I don't see it on the market.

@SashaNaronin8 жыл бұрын
+Kalvin One The battery can't die suddenly - it will always have enough power at least for control and gyroscopes. However, should the power fail somehow while riding it may use its motors as generators to control itself while slowing down. Hard drives use the same principle to put data readers into parking position when cutting power - power is taken from motor that is spun by disks with data that have large inertia.

For all those that worried about the gyros taking up all the power, I doubt they will have it continue to run, while the bike is moving, since the wheels will provide the gyroscopic action, just like a normal bike. Also, when it's stopped for longer periods of time, they will release the automatic kick stand.

Outfit a model of this with coming-soon auto-pilot/driver-less tech and it will revolutionize commuting. Firstly, even with only manual steering, it will grab people who don't want a big car. To save on costs, apartments, homes, and condos will offer half-size spaces and garages at a lower price to accommodate these. With driver-less technology, families will be sending young kids off to school and to visit relatives in these. Even GREAT grandma will be able to go anywhere anytime she pleases.

This and Elio. They're fairly good scams though. Incorporate your business, make unrealistic claims about your fantasy car, build a neat looking prototype, get investors to give you money, pay yourself a nice hefty salary, funnel as much money as you can into other companies you own, keep saying the vehicle will be in production "within 2 years" and keep telling investors "we just need a bit more money". When the money runs dry declare business bankruptcy and walk away with a tidy sum of money for yourself.

I would prefer a cross between a motorcycle and a car seat- something you straddle. Also, this is a proof of concept prototype, years away from full scale production. I'm sure they can get the final version to be quieter than a kittens purr. I am a little worried that they are only asking $24,000 for first round production- I would expect the first round to be over 30. I guess they are trying to prove they can make it inexpensive as well.

@capcadoi11 жыл бұрын
The point is, there are people who would rather ride something cool. And there are people who would rather drive 5 used cars. The point is also that our transportation has to become ecological (electric), sooner or later. Used cares are neither of those two.

They're obviously still working on it - the interior is unfinished and all the mechanics are still visible. Once everything is put together, I imagine it will be no different than other vehicles on the road.
@ginopunsalan7 ай бұрын
11 years after and they are still in preorder.
@flitsies6 ай бұрын
Yep I'm thinking if they ain't solved it after 11 years what are the chances of them solving now. Clearly there are some fundamental problems that need solving, throwing money at it won't solve the problem. You can ride a one wheeled vehicle so long as you have balance. I think they need to move away from just using a gyro and look at alternatives, or in conjunction with the gyro.
@Antitheist5 ай бұрын
As I understand it, the project shut down for many years because the owner was severely injured in a motorcycle accident. He’s only recently started the project up again.
@flitsies5 ай бұрын
@@Antitheist I don't think that is a good reason considering it was claimed that grey had a team, well the team could have continued the work if it were viable. The thing is as i said you van ride an EUC which is one wheel, but this is two wheels so should be easier, after all two wheels have been going for a long time, the main problem is when the vehicle stops that's it. How to stop the vehicle toppling over when it stops, when it is moving at a reasonable speed it holds its own, when it stops it will topple over. They use gyros to keep it upright but it can't go fast due to the gyros, what I heard, perhaps the solution should have been to slow the gyros down at speed and use the wheels to speed up the gyros when the vehicle slows down. That way the gyros only come into action at slow speeds and when not moving. But what do I know I am not working on the project.
@Antitheist5 ай бұрын
@@flitsies I’m no expert on this either, but what I read indicated the project could only raise a fraction of the 20 million it needed to move the project along. I’m not sure that has been solved even today, but that would explain the research being put on hold.
