I met Lita and her mom, back in 1988. Lita was doing a meet and greet, promotional tour for her album 'Lita'. Lita's mom was with her. And she signed my album ..... 'Lita's mom'. I looked at her and said ..... 'Thank you mom!' She smiled at me, Lita looked at my album, then at her mom, and then at me. Almost like she couldn't believe her mom signed my album! Then Lita signed my album, I graciously said ..... 'Thank you' to both ladies. Her mom seemed really nice, and it was a pleasure to have met both of them!

She's super fortunate to actually have color video of her childhood with her mom. These days everyone takes it for granted that we carry around in our pockets a video camera and can make movies of everything whenever we want. Back when she was growing up it was a big expense (and ordeal) to get a camera and film home videos.

I'm glad that she got to hear it before passing on. When my mom went Home I found a letter in her stuff that I had written to her thanking her for everything that I could think of. She kept that letter for almost three decades and I am so glad that I wrote it and it meant that much to her. I miss her every single day but I'd rather be where she is rather than have her stuck in this fucked up world.

This song hits really differently right now. it's been two years since she passed away. My mom used to accompany me everywhere and always worried about me. Even she waited for me in school since I was in kindergarten until I got my PhD. Many people say my mom is overprotective but for me, she's the best mom in the world. She raised me single-handedly and she even sacrificed her medical career to stay together with me. She started a small catering business, a small food store, and even a school bus. Technically, It's a minivan but idk any terms to represent school pick-up and drop-off business.

Lita, I'm reading "Living Like A Runaway" right now, and have been a fan since 1989. When I got the book I went straight to the chapter "Lisa" right away, and I knew this: your mom and mine were so much alike it's almost eerie, they were nearly identical in appearance. Both took good care of us and made us into the people we are; both were masterpieces who were taken by cancer.
