@@zero123alpha6 Muv luv is good, I just think there are a lot of things that are good but pay off in a similar level of quality that won't be a massive time investment. Read Muv Luv if you are super interested, but I probably just set my expectations too high. The mid section or so of Muv Luv Alternative is very strong. There something to be said about reading rosetta stone type media that inspired a bunch of other stuff you like. I went through something similar when reading Berserk but Berserk turned out to be one of my favorite pieces of a fiction where as I came off Muv Luv just happy to be finished in the final stretch and then a few days later went. "You know what, that was a cool story". I think the most impressive thing about Muv Luv is how many different things it manages to be competently. It's a rom com that turns into a sci fi epic, that also functions as a time travel story, handles political commentary alright, I guess was ahead of the curve in terms of being a little meta/self aware when it came out, and naturally has one of the biggest ladders of character development by the nature of the story. Behind all that praise though I personally feel Takeru is one of the most boring protagonist to be inside the head of most of the time, at least for me. I like Kasumi a lot and theres a couple other characters that left a solid impression. I felt like it overall did an impressive amount of things pretty competently well, and if you really want to read it by all means. Most friends who've asked me in the past if I personally recommended it to them I'd usually mention something else in their backlog or said something like "I dunno, to be fair you could probably clear Disco Elysium in 30 or so hours". I'm sorry it took a bit to get back to this. I have no clue if this was helpful but I wanted to make a point to not leave significant spoilers in case someone else was curious. I care enough about it as a property that'd feel bad saying anything further, take that how you will. It's popular for a reason. Theres someone out there less jaded than me who's life it will still change I'm sure.

@@MatheusFerreira-nm9gd I feel you. I had a similar experience when I played vanilla P5, where I just didn't care for the story or any of the characters particularly by the end of the game. I think being able to concretely feel that I was playing an unfinished game by the end didn't help so I just never bothered with royal.

Imo, Umineko is a mystery story that by the end of it all you are carrying less about the mystery, and more about the themes of love, and letting go of the past. It's such a good story, and if anything the mystery is only part of it
