Well Tim after watching the video I went and ordered the Lube Shuttle and hey I even used your promo code and saved an extra 5%. I ended up getting the MOs package with the longer 3’hose and the safe Lock coupler. I just like the idea of how easy it looks to add or remove cartridges. I wish they had orange grease to match my Kubota BX2380 with a 55” Commercial blower and 60” back blade and Tektite cab. Got just under 50 hours on it this winter clearing driveways for my mom and her senior neighbors. Thanks for the tip on this grease gun!

Outstanding video! Loved all the science. To clarify for the audience (I researched this for weeks) the P100 Polyurea grease is for sealed ball bearings that are sealed for life or very hard to service, that grease is the thinnest viscosity for tight clearance electric motor bearings or other precision ball bearings that apparently don't do well with the powdered "solids" in the grease because of the tight clearances and the highe RPM's involved, especially on brushed motors that have brushes and turn 12,000 rpms, like a Skillsaw motor.

Hey Tim, thanks for this video. I am ordering this system because of this video, however I also watched AET videos on the Airtec grease and the lithium complex with ceramic additive Li400 is what they claim is their "premium" best grease that you can use for everything. Have you looked into this option at all? I am likely going with Li400 with my order.

Any good quality ep2 grease with a lithium complex carrier will accomplish most of what you need for your tractor, truck and auto. If you notice a grease fitting on your bucket loader not accepting grease remove the grease fitting. If you find a hard whitish colored material you may want to change grease to an EP2 grease with a higher base oil viscosity. Simply going to an EP3 grease probably not help matters. The problem is that the base oil has separated from the carrier(lithium complex) due to high loads. Changing to an ep 2 grease with a higher base oil viscosity will alleviate this problem. As a rule I seldom use the poly urea greases in anything but electric motor bearings. Just about any sealed or shielded bearing made will have a high probability of being filled with polyurea grease. Poly urea mixed with other greases usually results in the base oils separating from their carriers. This is a bad thing. Lithium carriers are probably the most stable and rarely incompatible with other carriers with the exception of the poly urea and clay base greases. Loaders and diggers may if conditions warrant the use of a grease with a higher base oil viscosity. Simply going to an Ep 3 grease does not mean that the base oil viscosity of the grease increases. Check with your local grease suppliers engineering staff to insure you get the correct products. Many of the major suppliers such as shell, chevron have handy sales catalogs which can be used for lubrication selections.

@Ritalie
@Ritalie Жыл бұрын
I want to buy the P100 grease. I recently learned that the Polyurea 100 viscosity greases are the only greases to use for small sealed high rpm electric motor bearings. I put black graphite moly wheel bearing grease in my vintage Skillsaw electric motor bearings, and the bearings get hot almost immedietely due to the grease being too thick, and having solids. Sealed ball bearings don't generally have extreme loads on them, they have moderate loads, and so they don't need the high pressure solids. The Polyurea greases stick better and don't separate, meaning the oil doesn't separate out of the grease very easily and so the grease never hardens by accident. Sealed bearings need long lasting grease that doesn't harden, more than they need the "high pressure" additives.

Hmm, interesting on the grease gun and different lubes. I have been using moly based lubes for a very long time since Moly is the best lubricant available, BUT doesn't stick! It doesn't stay in suspension either, which is why motor oil doesn't have it, but in grease it is superb. What I found funny, Tim says Moly, yes, but is using the other grease on the Deere. LOL If you have time, look up QX and Moly Black Gold. That stuff was awesome as a lube!

As far as grease goes, I'll stick with Amsoil Synthetic Multi-purpose for high speed applications and Amsoil Synthetic Polymeric Off Road Grease for high load applications; it is heavily fortified with 5% moly. I've never seen any other grease that could beat these two in wear tests.

Hi Tim and Tractor Time Team, Thanks for the great/informative video. I went to the website you recommended and was poking around and came across Li400, which appears to be even better multipurpose grease than the MOS2, based on the description. Did Walter talk about it outside of the recorded video? Perhaps it is a new product which came out after the video was produced. There were three other tubes of grease on the table, Li200, LL700, and LL500... Did Walter discuss these with you? Love your videos and have been a subscriber for some time, keep up the great work. By the way, what lift do you use in your shop? I'm researching those too. Update: Well, I just saw your response to tk113 tk113 so you can skip the questions about the other greases, I'm still curious about the lift your tractor was on in the video!

There are now synthetic lubes that can replace ALL your lubes with a single lube. Some of the synthetic lubes now have all the same protections of the various old lubes all rolled into one and are fully interchangeable, no need to clean out the old lube when starting to use the synthetic lube. I switched a few years ago and haven't had any problems using the same tube on everything from axle bearings on various trailers to bucket hinge pivots PTO attachments to front bearings on 1 ton trucks. No need to buy a special gun that uses proprietary tubes-wasting money. Just remember to retract the plunger when the grease gun is not being used.

Thanks for introducing me to the Lube Shuttle, Tim. I bought one based on your earlier recommendation, after having several tubes of my molly (Mobile1) grease separate and ooze junk all over my garage. However, I must admit I’m less impressed by the quality of the gun itself. The Lock-n-Lube grease gun is much better built, albeit at the expense of using the regular, leaky grease tubes. Still happy I bought the Lube Shuttle for it’s ability to provide a superior, leak-proof experience, just disappointed that the gun feels pretty cheap in comparison to better guns. FWIW, I went back and bought a case of the G200 grease based on this video, for my mower spindles and PTOs.

Seems like it would be good to package a box of 10 with a combination of MoS2 and G200. Maybe 8 of the first and 2 of the second for someone like me who doesn't have a lot of high speed attachments. Or mix and match since the cost is the same regardless of which type of grease you buy.

I like the concept of the grease gun..clean and user friendly..however..i couldnt justify $116 for a pistol grip grease gun and 10 tubes of grease..i have 2 lincoln battery powered grease guns being a self employed mechanic..i have no issues with grease all over for one simple reason..your biggest issue with grease all over is primarily in warmer seasons..it's simply cured by pulling the plunger shaft back and locking it when not in use..the grease under pressure is thinner from the warmer temps and seeps past the rubber plunger...im not taking away from the product you showed us..but i rather have an electric grease gun any day for a few more dollars..much quicker and user friendly..and normal grease tubes available everywheres

When I bought my 2 Lube Shuttle guns from AET, I spoke on the phone with their tech guy, and he told me that the P100 polyurea was the way to go. So now, I have 10 tubes of that. :-/ I don't think it is a problem though, as regular "greazing", often, with any kind of grease is better than infrequent greasing with the best grease in the universe. Though, I did also get 10 empty tubes to fill with whatever different kind of grease that might be needed for other applications.

EOSJOE so many people dont know this. This grease was initially developed for use in anti friction bearings used in electric motor bearings. The oil film and carrier tended to remain in place better which ment that electric motor manufacturers had less bearing failures from electric motors which had remained on shelving for extended periods of time.

EOSJOE depends on which polyurea. There’s 2 one that won’t mix with anything but itself. And one polyurea that mixes with almost everything.

To buy from Your amazon store you have to get g200, not the recommended mos2, have you switched grease preferences?

No, lazy job on my part in Amazon store. Click the g200, then search mos2 and we would still get credit. Thanks! I’ll update that when I get a chance. Thanks for letting me know.

When i greese myself......i dont care what color it is......as long as it does its job........but if im relying on somone else greaseing.....black is the last color i want to see. Just seems to me harder to tell by seeing if fresh grease has been added or not.... old school i know but thats my story and you know the tune..... but that being said.....i would go for better for money.......the better fpr speed friction........ that way your covered no matter

I am not a fan of the safeLOCK. It doesn’t lock onto the Deere or Kubota fittings. Use the Lock n Lube.

I bought the lube shuttle, and thanks to your comment I've cancelled my order of the safeLOCK and will be purchasing a lock n lube. Does the lock n lube or the lube shuttle come with any adaptor that is capable of greasing the little u joints on the 2032r? If not what do you connect to your lube shuttle to grease those little zerks?

Hi Tim, you have me interested in changing grease because of the grease gun. However, your video, and every video I have found, skips one application, a boat trailer wheel bearing hub where the trailer has surge breaks. I’ve always been told to only use marine rated bearing grease for boat trailer bearing hubs but do not use that marine grease for other applications. I do not know why, but it’s what I have done. Ive driven past many people on the side of the road with failed boat trailer bearings. The expert in this video shows a ship, but that’s not the application. The application is a boat trailer on a axel with breaks, so we are talking high heat, it gets completely submerged in the water, so we need marine rated, and it may get put away wet and below freezing temp, so it needs to be thick. Currently, I’m using a hyper expensive product from Mercury Marine, but then I cant use your recommended tool. What grease should I use?

The reason you had grease grease on the outside of the tubes in a plunger style grease gun is simply because you used it wrong. When finished using a regular grease gun, you pull the plunger back and lock in. That stops the compression on the grease and the grease will stay inside the tube where it belongs.
