@@johnbuell8035 He does play some jazz on his first solo record...
@johnbuell80357 ай бұрын
@@zanichbug Jazz is not just a term for music which falls outside your understanding. It has certain elements, such as extended, altered and substituted chords, and a vocabulary which is extended to fit in with that harmony. People who lack this understanding use the word ‘jazz’ to describe all manner of things which tweak their ears a bit. Mick Taylor is a great player, but he just does not have that vocabulary, and his material does not include songs with that kind of harmony. Mick is playing pentatonic and blues scales the vast majority of the time. That’s not a criticism, just a fact. Because he is a great player, he is able to play some tasty stuff with those scales. But he does not play jazz, end of story.

Saw The Feat between 20-25 times between 1975 and 2012, Marvin, and the only comparable bands, live performance wise, were The Who (who I only saw two or three times), and the Allman Brothers. I saw the Allman Brothers somewhere between 30 and 35 times. Some bands just get it, when they get on stage. Some don't. The Feat always did.

HAHA! As my brother just said: *“Rock **-N-** Roll!”* -- On the original two-LP set the concerts’ song order was reconfigured for more dramatic effect, with nine performances from D.C. and eight from London. *The Rolling Stones’ Mick Taylor guests on “A Apolitical Blues” from the August 3 gig, which was otherwise excluded from consideration; it was subsequently known as the “Black Wednesday” show by the band.* Barrere and George were seriously hungover after staying up all night with some of the Tower of Power members after the second show. Castillo told writer Ben Fong-Torres for his Willin’ band biography that Hayward and George got into a screaming match just before going on stage, with punches thrown. Road manager Doug Zahn prevented Hayward from physically attacking George, who started the fisticuffs. Other band members reportedly fought in the dressing room after the show as well. *Massenburg called the evening “fucking tragic.”*
