Best rock n' roll singer of all time. Lowell, and his band, didn't get their due. Thanks for posting this.

they sure didn't, had Lowell lived, we would have seen and heard the most amazing music from Little Feat, loved his slide but his voice took you far away, sadly and sorely missed by all true Feat enthusiasts, very sad still, :(

This was the tour in 77 with Tower of Power where they recorded "Waiting for Columbus" among the top two or three greatest live albums ever made. it's up there with the "ABB live at the Fillmore East".

Lowell George was right up there with Hendrix and Morrison as a mighty talent. All three were doing their best work when they died.

FEAT is totally original. Not many people compliment Kenny Grandey on Bass He and Hayward are still a great section and should be recognized moreso ,since 1969 to now !!

Lowell George is a Renaissance man - transcendent. In the 1970's he was so far ahead of himself no one was even close. Kudos on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You are telling me that they put Axel Rose in their Hall of Fame and forgot Lowell George - now that is a joke.
@rands999a2 жыл бұрын
yup, a joke for sure. Lowell George deserved and deserves better, who chooses who to put in the HoF anyhow?

@Larrymh07 Couldn't agree more. In the 60's nobody gave a damn about awards. When you see who wins them today, I don't see why I should care now.

Zappa asked him to leave the band because Lowell George had lyrics, in some songs he had written, that mentioned or maybe condoned drug use and Zappa was anti-drug use, makes one wonder about 200 Motels, and where he got his ideas for that movie from! anyone know much about Zappa or that movie 200 Motels? I'd love to know more

@rands999a2 жыл бұрын
after Zappa asked him to leave The Mothers of Invention, Lowell exploded in the music scene, his music became historic and the most original sounds heard around the planet, gone far too soon and missed by everyone who listened to this band, no one or no band could ever make music like they did back in the day or even to this day...

No shit, huh? Lowell George was not only a better singer than Axl Rose, but LG was a spectacular slide guitarist too.
@rands999a2 жыл бұрын
I agree 100%, Rose isn't an artist, not like our beloved Lowell George, Lowell was true to his art, music, and life, exactly what a HoF inductee ought to be...not just a good musician, but a great musician and a great human being with something spectacular to offer.

@eddievas If you can get something started on Facebook (which I think is your best shot at gaining international support), a letter with the results would need to go to: Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation 1290 Avenue of the Americas New York, NY 10104 p.s. According to the R&R Hall of Fame & Museum, the Foundation doesn't have a public e-mail address.
