The best small size Cobra for me, is the 150 Cobra. The 125 is cool looking, fits in any pocket and place, however, the 150 is more capable, more comfortable to use and in the same time, it's still small enough, for edc. A Knipex Cobra 150 and a Victorinox like the Explorer or Hunter, Farmer model etc, probably are a better combo tool for edc, than any Leatherman plierhead based multitool is!

100 Cobra (XS) is 62 g 125 is 85 g 150 is 145 g 180 is 170 g 250 is 335 g 300 is 530 g So the weight difference between 125 and 150 is pretty big, over 70%. And only for an extra inch. So personally, I would either go XS for super portability or just go 180 as the most "standard" small-sized tool (for normal use).

@@hobbes3 If you can't handle 50 grams (for Christs sake we are supposed to be man) then there isn't any reason to carry any tool. Have you EVER used them side by side,the difference in performance is very big,same goes for its versatility and comfort. It can do way more than the novelty 125 xs etc. Were I work for the last 2 decades,all the stuff,from electritians to plumbers,we all carry the 180 Cobra in our pockets. Im the only guy,who also changes to the 150.for when Im not at work.

@@greekveteran2715 I think we're both saying the same thing. 180 is the standard "small" size that I use if I have my tool belt on me at a job site. The 180 covers most of my use cases. Otherwise, I'll rather go with the XS since that tool can fit in tighter spaces. An XS can do what a 125/150 can do, but not necessarily vice versa since the XS head is thinner as well. And if an XS is too weak or too small, then usually the 180 can take care of it. I'm using the XS (and other small tools) in a true EDC pouch, where space and weight is a premium. All of these little weight do add up. My heaviest tool is the Knipex CoBolt S 160 at 200 g, but I still want to carry it. I put my pouch in my messenger sling and it's with me like 95% of the day. Every day.

I use the XS every day for tiny little tasks when I don't have tools with me. I use them a lot more for grabbing stuff than dealing with fasteners. The XS fits in my coin pocket and is always with me. If I need anything more I'm probably grabbing 7" tools out of the tool bag or tool pouch. My Cobra 150's usually just go unused on the shelf. The XS jaws are also juch, much narrower than the 150's and fit into placed the 150's never could.

I have three pairs of the Cobra XS and they're the handiest pliers I've found yet except for the XS Pliers Wrench which have paralel jaws and come into their own right. On my Cobra XS I blued the white steel on the jaws and on one pair I added shrink tubing on the handles for electrical jobs. I carry a pair everyday along with my Leatherman Surge

I love how they sort of get burnished overtime like your 125’s. I got several pairs of these from the xs-210’s and the 180 pliers wrench

Can you inform me why the knipex 4 "cobra xs does not have the red plastic on its grips? Thank you
@timsworkshop853 жыл бұрын
I think it’s just something new and unique Knipex wanted to do for their smallest pair of pliers.
@Wolf.diesel3 жыл бұрын
I'm fairly sure it's because the handles are so small that you wouldn't be able to dip much of the handle otherwise it would stop them from functioning in all settings.
@ironmikehallowween2 жыл бұрын
I believe it’s because this type of tool has been discovered by the EDC community. The first thing we do, is to get rid of anything we consider that adds any bulk or weight.

Купил себе 250 и 180 . Не сантехник ,используется редко и намеренно .Раз купил - надо пользоваться . Они повреждают все что вы крутите ,все гацки ,болты после них изуродованы . Это по принципу - открутил гайку - выбросил
