The problem with handing the mantle to a new studio is that they will try their best to make it just like the original. While the creators would have evolved the gameplay. The difference between this and tarsier's reanimal is noticeable.

Agreed. I'm a Little Nightmares fan but this does not look like Little Nightmare to me sadly besides the DA. Looks like they can't recreate its atmosphere, ennemies and the whole vibe and are taking it more into an adventure/puzzles direction. Reanimal on the other hand literally looks like the real LN3.

The thing that I'm not so sure about this one is that the kids look like experts in surviving in their environment, they already have those tools and weapons and seem like they are very capable of defending themselves. What really connected me to the original was that Six was very vulnerable and ill-suited in her environment, made players care and connect with the kid.

Because of the unique situation these two products find themselves in. Little Nightmares carries a certain expectation, and handing it to a new studio is going to cause suspicion and comparisons to the work of the original devs. Meanwhile, ReAnimal, being made by the original devs, is very close to the same overall style of Little Nightmares, capturing the same atmosphere of feeling small, the same grotesque adult-looking things, the same kind of movement and puzzle solving focus. Comparisons are inevitable.
