Yeah man, hold your dad close, he's not done teaching you things to this day. My dad taught me how to deal with under handed bar managers to completely collect my money at the end of the night. My dad taught me how its easier to quit a band and join another one rather than fight over personal tastes. My dad also taught me: " if these things about me that you don't like, then don't do it, do something else." My dad lived hard, worked hard, played hard and paid the price, but didn't regret much. I lost my dad 5 years ago, but I'm just a little older than you, we live in the same state, and state of mind--I just gave up on the business this year--I'll get back to playing soon. If John Mayer came out in the 70s he would just be one of many, but since there are so few blues rockers in the spotlight, he’s a big deal. But he couldn’t come out in the 70s, because he owes all of his licks to songs of that era. (60s,70s,80s) It would be a sonic time warp. We’re just grateful that SOMEONE is playing the guitar.

I only ever picked up a guitar because of my dad. I was his little shadow and when I grew up I wanted to be as cool as he was playing guitar and working on cars. He wanted a son and got a redheaded daughter who just thought everything he did was cool so I think he was ok with me not being a son. Watching your dad play made me smile and made be cry at the same time, since my dad is no longer around. Without a doubt I am certain your dad felt super blessed by your thoughtful gift of sharing his gift for guitar with the world. Thanks for all your hard work on these great videos.

Always funny to hear about a famous "gifted" artist... and then you realize there are millions of awesome artists that no one will ever see or hear who are just as good, if not better. He's ripped on a few things I love before. Pat got a taste of his own medicine on Instagram live recently when a bunch of people said Guns N Roses stinks though lol. Still, gotta love Pat!
