I recorded this one some months ago. Tried to play it note for note following the studio version. To learn the rhythm guitar outro I listened to both the ''Behind The Scenes'' video and the multitracks breakdown

how Jimi was able to write such a delicate and melodic pattern is absolutely mind blowing

@@controversialchristian2378 Really something else when you consider it was a one off or improvised. I don't if it was his first take or just the one he kept but we know these rhythm parts weren't something that he worked out over hours or days. It was in his head and it was as easy for him to put it all together in a one take masterpiece as easy as it is for the ordinary man to put complete sentences together when speaking. So many guitar players can easily play what is in their heads. I hate them.

The rhythm section during the solo is better than the solo itself.

Abolutely! Was he using his ear to fit some of the fills from the verse to combine with the solo rythym? Never heard anyone put so much detail into that part of the song.

Isaak I’m a Hendrix anorak could bore you for hours this guy has a higher percentage of accuracy in my opinion. He is very much inside the music and has incredible attention to detail in terms of not only knowing what notes to hit but how to hit them in terms of attack intensity and sound reproduction. It is seriously impressive. If you wasn’t on his video suggesting someone else is ‘better’ at copying I wouldn’t put my opinion in.

Super authentic. With all the moronic camera work & editing in the 60's most of the time we were denied seeing what Jimi's hands were doing. This is the next best thing. You're playing is so close to Jimi's. Brilliant .Thanks for sharing.
@caveatemp8 жыл бұрын
Exactly my thoughts. There were a few passages where I thought, "That can't be how Jimi played it!" just from how it looked on the fretboard, but hell if it didn't sound exactly like Jimi's autograph.

you know, when Jimi recorded AXIS he spent hundreds of hours overdubbing, re-recording, he was absolutely obsessive about every single note...you have really mastered it, and I'm sure it took tons of time, but it's perfection, nonetheless..labours of love

One of the greatest masterpieces of all time, bar none. Think of how many artists payed homage to Jimi by covering Little Wing. Others spend a lifetime attempting to capture the grace, tone and emotion of this song. Greg nails it, like he does on everything. On a personal level, I have donated to Greg several times. I ask that you do the same. I do not know Greg, but he is possibly the only person alive that can effectively teach and demonstrate Hendrixes techniques. In the comments that I read, it is clearly evident that there is unbounded respect for Greg bringing forth and unlocking the mystery of Hendrix. The music world is indebted to this uniquely gifted man.

Greg you are note perfect, rhythm perfect once again. That is a hellova thing to so beautifully emulate the master himself. This rhythm track demontrates why Hendrix was so extraordinary. Yes there are faster, more technically proficient scale runners but no one, NO ONE has ever come close to being able to put pure emotion into their playing like he did.

I love the timing on this one. How and when he lays the chords and on top of that strange happy euforic emotions, like a dream landscape , druglike. Really guitar-talking. I really belive that this was exactly how he played it. Love it! Music is the best drug! You could do a 2 hours podcast just about how you did this and talk theoretical about what he really did, and invite some nerdy guy. Well. anyhow, amazing stuff! Now Ive seen several and it makes me think "..and what do you do when youve translated all the coolest and best guitarstuff that exist? a 9 minutes Miles Davis solo?"
