I doubt it. They are, by all means, completely different franchises. Playstation used to have multiple unique platformer franchises running in parallel, so it’s not impossible to pop up again

They really are. Noticed how Sony made it so all PS3 games could no longer be updated by their developers while LBP was shut down in 2021? Sony is clearly just trying to kill one of their best franchises for no apparent reason. I haven't even seen a single PCS genre game come out on PS4/5 since Dreams.

@@str8homez something to note is that if there was another game like this, they’d have to develop an entirely new engine. If there was work on lbp 4, I can imagine that they started a decent bit of work before having to shelf it to develop a new engine, we’ll see

If I had to make an honest guess, it's most likely the licenses expiring for various copyrighted tracks used in the game. Same thing happened to LBP2 around it's 10th anniversary as well.

Even if public custom servers go up, it'll never bring back all of the user content that was originally published across so many years... That's the biggest loss of all, for me. 🤧 I miss playing TurboEggSalad's levels, anyone else remember him? He had one vastly popular, super detailed horror level with this metal city... and then all of his others on his many accounts were the most insane, unhinged, awesomely absurdist pieces of art ever. I wonder how he's doing now... What a visionary. 😢

From what I've seen, almost every community level pre-2023 with 3 or more hearts was archived and uploaded to one of the custom servers, I'm pretty sure the bigger creators made videos about it

If there was work on another lbp, it’d be a few more years anyway. Developing a new engine in the modern day is a lengthy task, bethesda took a decade for it too. If there was a new game in the works, the engine is probably being worked on still.

Yesterday, I recently decided to try to bring back LBP by live streaming my LBP3 gameplay with a few friends on discord. I also made a hard choice to reset all my savings so I can start a fresh and new savings for those who don't know about LBP3, or just old boomers who wants to see a fresh start. I'm also doing this to make a trend called "Fresh Start LBP" to get not only content creators to see but also the company that owns LBP to see that we'll never give up on it, even if it is no longer there. I want to bring back that spark and maybe, just maybe, with your help, it will shine once more.

I love this game even though its not online even if its gone I still have the disc I like playing creative mode, story mode making skins I just cant take my eyes off the game. It’s my favorite game. Most of my hours was on this game I really want it to come back but even if it’s not online and I wasted some money on this game it is my favorite game and it will stay my favorite I just cant move on.

Nice video but there isn't any new information or positive outlooks, which I feel people search for in these videos. (beside a somewhat possible remaster to look for) It's understandable being pessimistic and suggesting that we "forget the game", but I believe that goes against the message of community support and creativity. If anything, just go to Refresh, guys. It's still happening, even if in a different way. Honestly, it's more poetic that this game becomes fully supported by this community. I believe this aligns with the main message of Littlebigplanet and it is an incredible honor to keep it alive.

I'm gonna be honest. I don't see LittleBIGPlanet making a comeback within the next year. However, in the thick of all of this, I hope our work with LittleBIGPlanet HUB+ will seek better support shortly after the game's delisting. There aren't any articles on our project yet, and for good reason. It's still early dev, but it's picking up fast. Once you see a notice on HUB+ from Lighthouse, I'm sure the community will be rejuvenated if not excited. Mentioned it to several communities and there seems to be some misinformation spreading around. We'll keep it a mystery, as the LBP community stays strong. 🦾
