Exactly what I needed to see. I use vinyl paper and go to the copy store and use their laser color printer, but then the snag of cutting out the sticker emerges and was on the verge of buying a Cricut, but every turtorial I saw was how to make a design using all these different colored vinyls which was not helpful as I wanted a multi- layered image, not a bunch of separate vectored images, to be able to cut out and not make something from scratch. Thank you for explaining this!

Yes, I concur that you did a fantastic job of explaining the print and cut. But I do have a few questions, 1st one is, do you have to calibrate the machine every time? The second is can you tape down your printer weight paper to some card stock to cut both out at the same time?
@littlecraftnest10 ай бұрын
Great questions. I recommend calibrating your machine if you have not done it in a while or if Cricut has done a new update. You don’t need to do it every time. I have never tried what you are asking but I suppose it would work if you found the right pressure setting. The other thing you can do if your just looking to make your paper stronger by adding cardstock to the back is to duplicate your image on the canvas - have one set as a print then cut and the other as a basic cut. Then you can cut then out separately and attach them together after. I hope that makes sense. Happy crafting.
@dustyacres10 ай бұрын
@littlecraftnest Thanks for commenting on this. I will try and calibrate the machine again, I received an error message. I did try the cut alone but my printed copy was bigger than the cardstock cuttings 😔 Will try something else, thanks.

Thanks for this tutorial. It was easy to follow along with. I even uploaded the same bunny images. My problem is that when the image was cut, my machine cut also inside the bunny image, cutting away part of his lower mouth and inside portions of his paws etc.; along with cutting the out the full bunny image. Why is this happening?
@littlecraftnest7 күн бұрын
Without seeing your screen my guess is that there was some negative space or holes within your image. @prettyhanane89115 ай бұрын
Yes you can! But you need to change the name of the matrial that you want to cut, it is no longer a cardstock...either you add that by your self (and you can add any material and adjust the fast of cutting and give it a name, so you will find it when you search for material names) or maybe Cricut made some updates and add it to the list.

Thank you so much for this video after much searching I came across this video which was a tremendous help. I do have a question tho. Can this same thing be applied when working with sublimation? I only have a sublimation printer and when pressing the mirrored image onto this dry erase poster sheets it cannot detect the image I’m assuming because of this. I don’t have a standard printer just curious if there is a work around for sublimation. Thank you in advance for any assistance 😊
@littlecraftnest8 ай бұрын
I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Yes you can use it with sublimation but you will have to print through Design Space. Make sure your image has only been mirrored once. ex. Make sure your printer is not set up to automatically mirror because if you then mirror in design space it will cancel out your original mirror. So turn off your printers auto mirror setting and only mirror after you go to “make” in Design Space. I hope that makes sense. You would need to log into your DS account in order to print. Ex. Go to work, log into DS and print. Then go home open DS (click already printed) and then cut. I don’t think you’d be able to log into DS and print at a store. Better to go to a library, friend’s house or work. Also keep in mind that if you move any images around on your canvas before you cut - your cut lines may be off. I hope that helps.

Hello I uploaded my images I bought from Etsy but I still see a white box around my image? When I move the image it covers another image. I uploaded svg and jpeg. Help please. Ty so informative and helpful
@littlecraftnest2 жыл бұрын
The SVG should not have a background or white box around it - the jpeg will. If the SVG does have a white box around it I would contact the creator of the SVG. But you can always remove the background yourself. When you go to upload use the magic wand and click the white background it it will disappear. This video may be helpful. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r4jaqXp-i8t0rpI

Design space seems to always put the image on the top left-hand side, when using print and cut is it possible to force it to be in a specific location on the paper instead? (For example, 10cm from the top of page, 8cm from the left of page)

When you click on “make” you can move your image to a different location on the mat by moving your image around with your mouse.

@littlecraftnest Жыл бұрын
To do this you will need to create an offset. You will then need to flatten your offset to your image. Here are some videos that may help. This is super helpful but as I try to cut after I printed …it is wanting to cut around every piece of my image and not just around the outside. How do I get it just to cut around the outside?
@littlecraftnest Жыл бұрын
Select all your layers together and click flatten.
@DavidMoore-gg4hs Жыл бұрын
I believe it only shows the upload as one layer. Do I still click flatten
@littlecraftnest Жыл бұрын
Make sure the operation does say “print then cut”. If the operation is print then cut and it’s only one layer you don’t need to click flatten. It should cut around the whole image. If there are gaps in your image (ie not all parts of the image are touching each others) you may need to add an offset behind it and then flatten the offset to your image. I hope that helps.
@DavidMoore-gg4hs Жыл бұрын
@@littlecraftnest that’s super helpful! I added a shape to the background and attached it to the image and then flattened. Is that what you mean by offset?
@littlecraftnest Жыл бұрын
Yes you can do that. There is also a function at the top that says “offset” where it will create a layer to go behind your image. Here is a video about offset kzbin.info/www/bejne/hXW7h5Wua9F2rsk I also use offsets in my sticker video here kzbin.info/www/bejne/gX6ul4ejat16g8k

You’re welcome. You can keep the background if you want the background printed out. Example, if you have a square photo with a background, you can keep it and your Cricut will cut around the square - not the subject. If you want your Cricut to cut around the subject you will have to remove the background. Hope that helps.
