I take you on a trip with me to the Grand River..a shopping trip at KHOLS, and a lazy afternoon I spent taking pictures at my friend Hal's place. I chat about what perhaps we are all looking for in life. Maybe the comfort I seek is closer than I think.
" Maybe life is like going to a concert....your seat is always crappy and the guy next to you won't stop talking...but in the end, the music is just so good and your just so happy to tell people you were there...being a part of it all "

My prayers were answered this week after I had a lumpectomy on my right breast, the news was good as they had taken out all the cancer and it had not spread to my lymph nodes. My life has taken on new meaning and I enjoy every little thing that occurs every day, even the mundane things. Love your videos, they bring me such joy and inspiration. 💋

Four weeks ago I had a lumpectomy on my right hreast, too. Same as you, they got it all with no lymph node involved. God is good!

Hi it's Annie I enjoyed your selection of products have tried the coconut oil lotion and I use their shampoo and conditioner as well it smells divine I love that coconut smell. It puts me in a nicer mood and I feel pampered. Will look out for that orange smelling creme as her in Australia we don't always have the same products available that you have in stores. I will look for the Loreal Body glow one as well it maybe be just enough coverage for the legs as I have spider veins etc that do not look nice. I like all the clothes you showed they look pretty on you and you have such a lovely big smile ear to ear it makes me want to smile too. To cheer myself I like to do my own hair and nails I use Henna powder to color my hair it is available in health shops and is safe and skin friendly to use and easy just mix powder with hot water wailt till it cools and put in hair it looks like mud in your hair that is ok and sit in the sun for up to an hour no less than 45min and then shampoo hair and style it. It comes in earth colours brown, black, red, copper and brass shades not in blonde but it looks very natural, last for couple months. My nails I just cut and file them and put on what ever color I fancy on the nails. I like to mix my own perfumes made with essential oils they are more healthier. If I have any other perfumes I do not spray it on my skin but on to clothing and bed linen also curtains. I like the house to smell nice and use those soy based beautifully scented candles a lot.

They say the sun is bad for us, but for me...it's good! I try to sit, walk, work outside every day for at least awhile, if I get a little red or tanned, then I feel alive and healthier! I love the sun and never will I stop enjoying a tan. Need that Vit D!!

So funny to hear you mention potential favorites as "skin care, makeup, decor, my new plumber." In 2006, I made the heartrending decision to leave the Milwaukee Ballet, which had hired me when I evacuated for Katrina, and return to the unknown of post-hurricane Louisiana. I purchased my first home, only to experience the hot water heater rupturing in the attic and threatening to cause major damage. My home warranty was good for two enormous, slovenly thugs who refused to even enter the attic because it had no real floor. Nine days later, without a bath/shower, I flew out the door and hugged the plumber I'd found on my own when he arrived. A sort of heavyset Alan Bates. Part plumber. Part philosopher. With a wonderful sense of humor. He brought lumber to floor the attic, and then when he learned the hot water heater he brought was the wrong size, he sent his son to exchange it. While he waited, he plopped down on my sectional, and asked me for a piano concert. I sat down and played for the most appreciative audience I ever had. Thank you for evoking this memory for me.

I really enjoyed this story Christa, heart-wrenching though the circumstances were, one of the reasons being that my husband is a retired plumber. One of the things I find myself frequently watching on KZbin is ballet. The older and less mobile I'm getting the more I'm enjoying watching others move! (Back and neck problems) ☺️💕

I absolutely love beautiful sun hats! The dresses you bought would be beautiful with sun hats. They protect your face from the sun. I probably have 25 hats I’ve collected through the years. Mostly made of sun protective fabric in beautiful colors, solids, prints you name it. So fun and awesome with a summer dress and sunglasses. The fabrics are great and my hats roll up to go in a suitcase or bag.

So, I stumbled across your channel a couple of weeks ago and you were talking about "signs". And you asked "do you believe in signs". You talked about trying to be something/someone your not and you referenced a movie.....Home after Dark. Well, I cannot tell you how this touched me. I spent too many years trying to be someone I'm not, I was abandoned by my mother as a child so I grew up thinking I wasn't special enough, otherwise why would she abandon me? Anyhow, I bought the movie off of Amazon...loved it. You were also talking about one of your favorite artists who passed away at a young age and how you love how she painted flowers. The loved the artwork you filmed and it looked very familiar to me. Later on that night, I happened to look at the signature on the two prints that I have above my sofa....they were signed "Cheri Blum". I LOVE these prints and have had them for decades. I live in a hot desert environment so I keep a scent in the frig to spray on when I come back home. And I keep a small one in my car. I hate to smell hot and sweaty.

I always have such a big smile on my face when I watch your videos Susan. You are such an inspiration and you just make my day along with Desi. Yes, I love beautiful summer dresses in bright colors, flowers, and feminine looking. I enjoy dressing up for work everyday. I mix it up one day slacks and a beautiful top and the next day a dress. I have found some lovely outfits in my Kohl's lately. Never was a big Kohl's shopper. I like Burlington. We also have a place here in New England called Frugal Frannies - it's a huge off-price warehouse where I have found some unique and beautiful tops. Yes life is about handling the not so good with the good. The good always outweighs the bad. When we look back on life and career experiences we may not have expected it to turn out the way it did but you know in the end we wouldn't have it any other way. Life is about choosing the way we want to live and if we keep that as a goal to strive at we will achieve. Right now i'm in a work home/life rebalancing - one part likes to work but then things I would like to do at home get put off. Depending on my current job assignment now it may end next month (been here a year) but I feel if my contract ends next month I will have some needed me time off.

The music and beautiful scenery in your videos make me happy and calm. As far as summer,here in FtLd it’s always summer and I hate it. Too humid to dress nice but something I do love us fresh brewed iced tea or fresh lemonade. So refreshing

Susan, you really can ROCK a summer dress, you always look so feminine, and i vision you running thru a field of wildflowers..... I have been using many of the products you suggest, since I started to follow you, the other day my daughter came over for lunch, and she said “Mom your skin just glows, you don’t have a wrinkle on your face” she made my day.... needless to say, I bought her a few items, Rose hip seed oil, and the under eye gel.... Since moving to Kalamazoo from my hometown of Grand Rapids 3 yrs ago seeing little tidbits of my home is wonderful! At 61 I have tried so many different makeup brands from expensive to drug store & JOAH foundation & mascara is my favorite. I do have to order it on line as never can find it anywhere. Summer, fall, spring or winter the secret to beauty is self confidence.

Desi is such a sweet boy. He takes his treat so gently from your fingers. I haven't done anything special for summer in years. This year I may try wearing dresses and skirts more and making sure my nails are done. I'm also going to look for those creams you mentioned.
