Come Thrift With Me! I went to 3 thrift stores and I found a Mid Centruy find that I love! I hope you love it too. Holiday Shopping at the thrift stores..yes, it can be done and I show you how I did it for my friends! It was so fun. I also have a heart-to-heart talk about my new relationship and a painful lesson I learned. I changed the name of the man that I was dating in 2012 out of respect for him...his name was not Roger...but let's just call him that!

This aging process for a woman can be tricky! At least for me, no 2 weeks are the same. The tools I have developed to cope with the raging hormones, hot flashes, mood swings and 100 other things truly has helped me...and I hope to talk about this more next year. You remind me every week what it means to keep moving forward...never alone.

This has a great Mid Century Modern Feel for a small apartment! I am hoping it will arrive before Christmas!
1. Flowers I Used For My Flower Arrangement -
2 Weeping Irises - Purchased at Flower Land - Can be ordered from many craft Garden Centers & Stores - 2 Orange Poppies
This looks so simple but what I quickly found out is the flowers have to be cut at a certain length and after that, it was a good half-hour of bending the branches to achieve that " just threw it in the vase from the garden" look. I really was surprised that " simple" was so complicated to achieve! But I loved it! My instinct was to make it full and warm. Achieving "graceful" is a work in progress.

My two cents, we've only heard one side of the story. I'd like to hear Roger's side before deciding to label him. I have emotionally needy friends who need reassurance constantly. I love them dearly, have known them my whole life, but they can be exhausting. Generally, I'm ok with it, but there are days when I just don't have the energy to be a cheerleader. I just want to go out/hang out with them and enjoy myself. Maybe good old Roger was having one of those days?? P. S. I'd rather be over-dressed, than under-dressed. No one knows where you were prior to the restaurant, and who cares what any one else thinks anyway! We are always our own worst critics. I'd bet $$$ that you looked fab!!

Still he could have be , a little more tactful. If he doesn't want the kind of woman who needs emotional support. I am one who needs alot of emotional support and just had this talk with my bf. He gets defensive instead of supporting my feelings. And that is SO STRESSFUL FOR ME. I tell him if he can't handle one of my love languages,, and two others, maybe we shouldn't be together. I have had plenty of men/friends who are supportive. MEN too nerd emotional support, they have so few outlets for their feelings. And frankly many don't know how to.manage. ans get violent etc .. Sad we humans can't be all things all the time. But at least he could have been kind about it.

I made my first trip to Salvation Army this week and found 3 antique bowls! And a 5.00 chair I will refurbish. Not to mention 10 hard back books 1.00 each. ...... I cant tell you how much I enjoy your thrift store finds and your deep feeling talks that really draw people into your heart felt emotions and touch us all. I loved how you put it about how that jerk loved you when you were strong but had no time for you when you were weak or in need of comfort. So many women have been treated this way by men where we always have to be pleasant and pleasing while making us feel like a needy drag if we show anything otherwise. Those words were perfect to make his behaviour and the bad person he is hit home. None of us should ever be treated unkindly or made to feel like insecurity at times is unnatural or pathetic. I am so happy that you found someone to share the holidays with and just every day going ons💚 I’m the same way with my friends family and neighbors everyone’s on a budget so I just pick what they like.. But for the Grace of God go I…I am so grateful for everything that I have and that I can give to my family and friends. my oldest daughter has been in Atherton Australia for over 12 years now. My two granddaughters were born there and except for FaceTime I have not seen them in person… it’s so nice to watch a video and have something in common with someone near my age! And has a dog like my Otis! My friend at church is from Haiti and she always brings me something back she brought me back a beautiful tray like that but it’s all brown and black with carvings on it, I have it on my living room table😄 I am just grateful for each day that I have and owe it all to the Lord🙏

Good Morning Susan! I loved this visit today from you and Desi. I am almost moved into my new "lady condo" and I feel like you were here with me having coffee. I love how you share your life experiences, I don't feel so alone when you do. I am glad for you that you have met a wonderful man that brings more happiness to your life. For now, I am taking a break from dating. In August I broke up with a man that was interesting but the relationship was not what I wanted. I am now building a relationship with my new home, and really caring for myself. Purging so many things from the past 35 years in my previous home plus all the family memories that were handed down to me from parents, grandparents and other family memories is enough for me to process. thanks for the idea of the Dolly Parton towels...my new daughter in law loves Dolly! Now I know what to send her for Christmas. Got to run, my second oldest son, his wife and my grandson are meeting me at the old house to continue purging so I can put it on the market ASAP. Hi Susan, I bet you must be excited about hosting Christmas for your family. I host Christmas every year at my house and love having the family over especially my grandsons. The gifts you selected for your friends are very thoughtful. I’m sure they will be very thankful to get them. It’s funny because when you showed the photos of the mid century modern rooms they didn’t look like ones that I would picture you to like. They seemed cold and your home is very warm and inviting. Oh Susan, when you told the story of your man friend & how he made you feel, I could so relate! I remember a time when I would always tell my husband that I loved him, but he would never initiate “ I love you” first, so I told him “I think I love you more than you love me” and he said “I think you’re right.” That was bone crushing hurt & I never will forget how that made me feel. I find so much joy from your videos, I cry with you, I laugh with you, I get great ideas from you & I have a glass of wine with you. You always make me want to be a stronger person.
