Since you obviously like theorizing a bit after every episode of AoT, I 've got to tell you that you are in for a treat with this one. The length of the story adds depth to the mysteries (that are at least in par with those of AoT and you have, as of yet, seen just the tip of that iceberg), and leaves you with the time to digest the clues and form the kind of fantastic theories fit for such a whacky world. Just accept the (sometimes bad) pacing of the anime and enjoy this wholesome story!

The show was realeased in 1997, so it's very crazy and poetic to know you're watching episodes which are almost 30 years old! You'll see changes on the animation and charachters but the passion is ALWAYS there

Live Action did a good job pulling people into the story of One Piece (even though spoiled a lot), but it has nothing over the anime. The original art style and language just hit different. I don't think you'll be able to stop at that point, not that there's any reason to in the first place. Having said that, really excited to watch this with new people. Keep up the good work!

I suggested on their patreon that they watch 2 episodes a week and that'll take them a year to catch up to where the Live Action finished off. But after reading your comment the question really boils down to which version will give them the best emotional impact as a reaction video? And you're right, the anime will give a much more intense reaction because the stories are more fleshed out. So I agree, I think they should continue with the anime and just watch the Live Action versions when those come out.

It's a little slow at first but please keep it up!!! For me it was the Arlong Park Arc in the anime is when I became fully invested. The live action does not do the anime justice. One Piece was the first anime that ever made me cry like a little baby and I never have emotional reactions to anything! NO SPOILERS: but the emotional variation and depth of one piece in the Anime & Manga versions is almost IMPOSSIBLE to accurately describe or even predict, One piece starts off with a very FUN "saturday morning cartoon" sorta vibe, But what it ends up becoming, and progresses towards, Is something truly indescribable, something that no one could ever prepare you for If you're ALREADY enjoying it, then this series will NO DOUBT become one of, if not your two's favorite series. I can almost guarantee that, 🎉 its just that special and fascinating. The world, the characters, the stories, HOW TIED EVERYTHING IS TOGETHER, is something you cant experience with nearly any other piece of fiction, It's truly one of a kind, and i really hope you two continue having fun with it 🎉 so that we can all watch you become hopelessly addicted to where this story goes , what it stands for, and what it accomplishes

It's crazy to think about, but the Japanese voice actors for the strawhat crew have been working together for almost 25 years streight! You can really see their close bond in some of the interviews netflix released

@@fernandaoXD remember One Piece's first chapter came out in 1997. Oda was like 22. You literally watch his artstyle and writing get better and more serious as the series goes. Early One Piece is pretty goofy. Voice acting adds another layer of goofiness that can't be present in the manga. Both mediums have their ups and downs.

​@ProHero86 The writer's strike has long ended so this shouldn't be a major issue anymore. I'm rather sure that the scripts are now ready. The actor's strike which only ended at the start of November had way more effect on delaying the filming from the obvious original plan (filming starts ). I'm also rather sure that they are already casting new actors (we will only know way later who they chose) which won't take even close to an entire year. Usually you start filming when you have found your cast but the weather conditions in South Africa could hinder this process. But I see no way that they delay it until January 2025. If I look at your comment you maybe have the wrong order in mind? Post production comes after filming. The first season was filmed from end of January 2022 until end of August 2022 - and after this it did go in post production for nearly a year.

I would really recommend you guys to watch up to episode 61, where the arc actually ends and they go to the grand line. Would be a better fit to end the reaction.

Yeah you should just keep going with One Piece the anime because even if you know what's going to happen, when you see the live-action it's still really great. It's probably better to watch the anime first and then the live-action because you'll see how they create live-action stuff from the anime and compare it. It's kind of fun how they can consolidate so many episodes into one episode of live-action. Gives you a general picture. But at the same time, you miss out on some details and less important story stuff in the anime. It's understandable of course because the anime has various episodes and the live-action is shorter so naturally you'd have to consolidate and only take the best and most important parts. I believe the entire East Blue arc is composed of 50 anime episodes but was squeezed into 8 live-action episodes. So I'd recommend you watch the anime all the way up until S2 of live-action happens. Then watch S2 and then go back to watching the anime until you get all caught up (which will probably take awhile lmao). One Piece is the 2nd longest manga/anime ever made. Detective Conan/Case Closed is the 1st longest manga/anime ever made. That is also AWESOME.

So excited you are starting the anime! I will be following the journey with you no matter the order, but if you accept some advice from a long-time fan, doing anime first and then live action will improve the experience immensely, especially as seasons in One Piece get longer and way, way (waaaaay) more complex in content.
