I was able to find more information on how much Seint Makeup's Artists were being paid for their hard work. And it's alarmingly bad! Let's talk about it!

Jen, I pulled the 2023 income discloser if you want it. MLM disclosures in general are so fascinating to me. They're all the same for all MLMs, with the bulk of reps making next to nothing. There were just over 20k Seint artists in 2023 at levels 1 and 2 and the average incomes are barely higher than they were in 2020, $77 and $985. MLMs fascinate me and creep me out so much. I watch anti-MLM content sometimes and am so baffled by it all.

I'm so bummed I missed this live. A lot of girls I went to HS with sold Seint and this week has been a lot of tear filled IG stories of anger that the MLM aspect will gone. I thought it would be considered a good thing to be able to keep the ability to sell with an affiliate code but I realize now that most are upset bc they are losing their down line income & of course loosing their once a year vacations. I feel bad that many people are loosing their income source but I am concerned that so many of the ladies that I know sold Seint have already jumped into other MLM companies

SO glad you covered this. So many of them will join other MLMs & then say they’re the best ever rather than realizing it’s MLMs that are the problem. They don’t care about you, if they did they wouldn’t structure companies designed so 1% made money while the bottom 95-99% barely make or lose money & any money they do make the top 1% get a cut of. It’s an unethical business structure that shouldn’t be legal. The people at the top KNOW they’re scamming. The people at the bottom don’t always they become indoctrinated by their uplines & companies using the BITE model so for them, I feel worse & hope they get out of MLMs altogether.

Like you mentioned in one of your previous videos, TikTok Shop is changing the way a lot of people shop. A lot more of these ex MLM folks are going to start selling there. And we all know TT is a platform that targets a younger audience (like “Sephora Kids”). They’re not gonna know the backstory of these MLM companies.

Omg I have to double comment to say that in the beginning of this company I was following a couple of girls who had joined right away and had HUGE teams. 1 was Kirsten Tyrell (not sure the spelling) she was so high up and a personal friend of Cara's. Then one day she vanished from the internet and was scrubbed from Seints socials. Maybe she would do an interview with you!

2020: MLMs tend to thrive in vulnerable times because people are in fear of how to make money & survive. Seint won’t be able to survive in the mainstream beauty market. It’s already over saturated, their products are dry, overpriced & underwhelming. You can get better products at the drugstore these days for a fraction of the price & people have their beloved Sephora type brands. Most won’t take a risk on Seint & ANYONE who’s anti MLM still won’t buy from them. I hope they close altogether in the near future.

# replay Being the makeup lover that I am, I tried this last year. Not for me. And I’m all about people doing whatever makes them feel beautiful, but the makeup is just meh. I’ve also been watching a lot of CC Suarez on here and she has taught me A LOT about MLM companies. I’m also pretty sure the “artist starter kits” were really expensive and the cheapest one was over $100. That actually means the majority of artists likely LOST money by joining. So crazy 🤯

I used to work for an mlm in customer service from 2019 to 2013. I was laid off along with other co-works in 2023 due to budget cuts . 2020 was the company’s best year in sales. It has everything to do with the pandemic. Mlms were thriving during that time.

I used sent for about a year. Just used it I was not an artist. When my foundation shade ran out I decided not to repurchase because it gets so hard. The bronzer was hard to use because it was hard to. So I did not repurchase and decided to go back to a tinted moisturizer. The blushes were ok but they kind of went on patchy. So I just bought a few rms blushes and her bronzer and tossed the Seint ones. Luckily the tins of Seint weren’t super expensive, they are around drugstore prices.

I got drawn into it because the makeup looked very unique and as a cosmetics junkie I felt the only way to be able to experience it for a lesser cost would be to sign up... girl, it was beyond culty and because I had no upline it was just an echo chamber.

There’s a reason MLMs didn’t give up their financials after 2020 which was like an anomaly for many of them due to financial fear created by the pandemic. Then they realized they’re losing, if not spending more in an MLM.

As a Canadian, I had never heard of Seint until I saw @ video on Pinterest. The woman demonstrating called herself a makeup artist which I found surprising because her own makeup wasn’t well applied. Now that I see they call their reps “artists” it makes more sense. It makes me question their training. I feel so bad for these women who are just trying to get ahead. I’m sure the top two American earners are the people who founded the company.

But even her corrected numbers use 25% for $15,000. At 45%, a person would make about $6750 per month in commissions if they sold $15000 worth of makeup every month. That's $81000 per year. Her point still stands; that's a lot of sales for just an okay salary. But I think what they offer is a little better than what she portrays here.

People need to learn how to compartmentalize... You can not like James/Jeffree/etc and still enjoy their products. You can enjoy escape the night and not like joey, etc Get a grip, it's not that deep. Just like when people are like "buy from this brand bc it's black own or women owned!" I mean.. let's not be patronizing and treat others like charity cases. If I enjoy the product, I'll use it. If I don't, I won't. Simple as that
@zaramikazuki8374
@zaramikazuki8374 18 күн бұрын
I don't disagree with you, but I also don't think it is that simple. For me, it's possible to compartmentalize or separate the artist from their work in some cases, but it is impossible in other cases. It's something that people judge on a case-by-case basis, and when it comes to these makeup influencers, they fall into different categories for different people.
@fashionspy96
@fashionspy96 18 күн бұрын
@@zaramikazuki8374 for sure it's case by case. I just think that if someone has like a "I wouldn't touch their products with a ten foot pole even if they're perfect" kind of attitude, it's because they have formed too strong of a parasocial relationship and they need to touch some grass. Kevin spacey isn't a good person imo, but I can still enjoy house of cards, you know?
@chelsey8737
@chelsey8737 18 күн бұрын
You're over simplifying it. It's entirely reasonable for people to not want to support people they feel are morally incompatible with themselves. People don't want to find the lifestyles of people they think are doing the wrong things. Separating the art from the artist is literally impossible because the art doesn't exist without the artist

I use seint and I love it. Not sure they will survive the change, seint has had free marketing, yeah it came with an expense of commissions and trips, but I don’t think Cara did enough in a saturated market to market seint. She handed over her business to others who were rewarded for effort, but the effort actually came from their downlines, who somehow “missed the mark.” Those crying online have JUMPED to other MLM’s, so you were only into for the money 🙄 stop playing the victim and just move on. The corporate world, if you are in a place to get a bonus, never expect it! If you are in a place to earn overtime, never make it livable income this is corporate 101. Bottom line, Cara just made a move that services her, and not her customers so I’ll be looking for a replacement. The artists who have reaped the rewards from a few videos and all your downlines, you’ve showed your true colors, change your face and promote all your other brands, work it girl, work it! Move on!
