I agree... as long as he doesn't get popped for steroids like every single Brazilian UFC fighter. But he is English, so that makes him twice as smart and half as likely to throw away his career.

Ray ink Ray ink ya that was tripping me out too. I started looking out my window thinking I was hearing it live for a second. If you look over Lukes left shoulder waaay in the back you'll see a screen playing what looks like a car racing game ad playing on a loop. So your GTA joke was almost dead on

This is the problem that I saw in Maia's take down attempts. Maia was shooting from to far out. He does have Judo throws but he didn't use them. It almost appeared that he was afraid of Covington taking him down. Maia has to look at his 5-8 wins in a row. Look at the takedowns in detail. He did shoot in on some, yes.

@drevm7991
@drevm7991 7 жыл бұрын
Aerial Penn I don’t see that ever happening really. If the fight library isn’t getting it anywhere near there now, it never will. And there’s only so much other original content you can center around MMA and none of it really attracts new users. WWE has similar issues with their platform even though they make a bunch of original stuff on top of adding ALL past and future PPVs and tv cards, which UFC can’t do. Maybe if they bought/rented some of the major boxing promotions’ libraries, that could add some of the hardcore boxing base but that’s still not enough.

It's one thing picking a fight with the audience, and not 'coddling' them. But it is another thing to label an entire country of people as filthy animals regardless of whether it improves his marketability as a fighter. Professional fighters should also be held to a higher standard than the fans, if the fans are rude (which I totally Brazil is), it is not a fighters place to recipricate in such a harsh manner.

Luke!! Shut up with your"world class wrestler" speech. Guys like Covington didn't compete internationally because they decided to chase a paycheck through MMA instead. Cormier and Romero are over a decade older so when they were at the stage in wrestling competition Colby was there was no real money in MMA yet. So your wrong Colby and Woodley ARE and have beaten"world class wrestlers" regardless if they chased Olympic/world championship gold. Colby won the pack 12 championship back to back at 174 lbs. That conference at that super competitive 174lb.weight is more then enough for that label to hold water
@dkoli

Has he competed on the world level? If not hes not world class. Doesnt matter if you THINK hed beat most of the guys on the world level. No evidence no title
@LifeVsDeath-zw4fz
@LifeVsDeath-zw4fz 7 жыл бұрын
dkoli im not debating if they are technically or "officially" world class. My point is if you listen to the question that was asked the point wasn't whether they actually competed world wide but rather the caliber of there wrestling skill set. So the rant about "world class wrestler" was pointless to answer the guys question

Bisping never earned a title shot, then when he got gifted it he was lucky Luke was cocky and then has avoided any real challengers. The idea hes "one of the greatest" is hilarious as you can easily argue hes the worst champ in ufc history, or second worst after Conor.

As Colvy said in his defense "America". Also MMA will never reach global acceptance as a legitimate sport untill these various organizations realize they cant host and name champions from within one stable. There's dozens of MMA companies each with their own rules and regulations and most cant cross fight. Untill an entity is founded that can stabilize the rules across the globe and the sport is opened to everyone, that cant happen.
@lucaswood7602
@lucaswood7602 7 жыл бұрын
What in gods name are you talking about? First of all many people consider MMA a legitimate sport, it is WAY younger than many of the other popular sports so it's very difficult to argue that it's not at least on it's way. Most promotions that operate primarily in the USA use the unified rules (there are a few differences in the unified rules unfortunately). A few of the promotions in Asia have different rules but that's not totally on the promotion that is on the regulatory bodies of those countries. As far as "hosting champions under one stable" what the hell could you possibly be talking about there? The UFC has had the most world class talent out of any promotion and simply acquire prospects from those "various"promotions as they see fit. Note that those "various" promotions have a fraction of the viewership the UFC does. Now it is arguable that Bellator is acquiring some pretty stellar talent lately and is building some pretty solid divisions. Ultimately the reason why champions from other promotions aren't fighting is because it's way more complicated what banner they will ultimately fight under. Cross promotion is much more difficult to pull off buisness wise, differences in sponsors etc. Almost all the actors in the buisness of MMA want it to be considered legitimate but ultimately it's a buisness and promotions are looking out for the bottom line.

Lucas Wood nope. Its a new thing and these guys setup shop with a monopoly system. Not even the Ali act is enforced since they all operate like a private business centered around the company and not the players. Its like if one basketball team signed 1000 players and pit them against each other then another team followed in that path. Its upside down. Theres no complication in MMA other than each company doesnt want to split the revenue with another, which is how its supposed to be. It would even raise the level of fighters when they can compete with the entire pool of fighters worldwide. Free lesson son
