Love your videos man. I have somewhat gotten a bunch of my friends into chess and you are always the first person I recommend. Not only do I think you do the best job of explaining beginner - intermediate concepts in a simple way, I also think you promote a style of chess that is just fun.

I love these videos, been watching the rating climb since really early on. One request I have is to please include the game review every time. I learn so much from watching you analyze the games and I've been really missing these whenever you're in a rush to get more games in. For me it's a quality over quantity thing--I'd rather watch three games in-depth than five with no analysis. Cheers!

I hate players that barely use any of their time and then just crush you! They don't give you any time to think, and they seem hardly phased by your threats, as if your moves mean nothing to them, using only 20% of their time to beat you. Thank goodness you drew that game!

What I've learned from Nelson? Word 'Interesting' means 'Dumb' 😂
@paulness750Ай бұрын
Maybe "interesting" depends on the context, but sometimes it must mean "sus", e.g. "It's interesting that a 400 Elo player that figured out 7 moves in advance."

Even Nelson, with his calm mind and demeanor, can tilt. As soon as he suspected his opponent was cheating (which he obviously wasn't), he lost his ability to see a tactic that he absolutely would have seen if it weren't for the tilt. Still, he managed to recover. Good to know that nobody is immune to tilt.

Game 3 was scary as heck. His move was to sacrifice his queen first, then to take your rook with his bishop for check, then to claim your rook, granting him an advantageous trade.

Hey man, I think you gave up early in the last game on finding a good move. I found f4 with the idea of e3 instead of h6 at 52:03 . And then afterward if white takes fxe3, you have the option to play f3! and idk I thought that may be good, so basically the line is: f4 nxb5 e3 fxe3 f3 and I think on the next move you win a piece with f2 because you threaten to promote and there's no way to really stop the pawn. I wish you had a lichess link of the game so I can analyze but I think what I found might work...

@AdrianHernandez-ul4in Жыл бұрын
Best way is to simply do "blunder checks." As someone who started off with 300 ELO a few months ago, I can say that everyone in that rating range blunders and hangs pieces, you're just not punishing it. The victor comes down to the person who catches these mistakes.

Dear Nelson; Kind Viewers, I am searching for the game where you played with white. @@TheJoker-rn8zc thank you. But thats really not it. It was on the other side of the board. Black Queen threatened to take the b2pawn. He had an idea to trap the queen after Queen takes on b2. The trap included a a2pawn push to a3. I cant find the game...

Nelson you're my favorite chess player so I want to help you heal your blood clot. It will help to walk alot, and for that you should wear minimalist shoes to avoid foot pain/damage. When I started wearing minimalist zero-drop shoes it changed my life and eliminated my foot pain, allowing me to easily take 10,000 to 20,000 steps a day and score goals on a soccer team at age 44! I'm not a doctor, but I think minimalist shoes will give you a new found love for completely pain free walking and running 👣❤️⚽

The interaction with the chat is kind of annoying. It's like listening to someone talk on their phone on a bus. A one way conversation, although having the chat on screen would make it unwatchable. It's also not a true climbing the ladder series because you have a pool of people who may not give you good moves, but may stop you from blundering.
