What helped me when learning these was to stretch out my leading arm and point at the end of the box. This kept me balanced over the box or rail and prevented me from slipping back and falling on my butt

Yeah this also helps you not starting to turn on the box.

the forward momentum allows for less necessity to balance, just like on a bicycle the forward motion allows less force needed from the side to keep balanced
@epikplatypus114 жыл бұрын
the reason a bicycle stays balanced is because of the gyroscopic effect produced by rotating masses (the wheels). Since there are no wheels on a snowboard, this doesn't apply

My only concern with trying to lean too much forward is to catch a toe edge and face plant the box - is this even likely to happen ? Because if not, then I have nothing to worry about lol

The goal is to stay as flat as you can on the box. I see soooo many kids lifting their toes. The second your edge hits that box you're smacking that booty. Just stay flat.

I was waiting for the tips on BACKSIDE board slides but this was all frontside, fail
@boivintof4 жыл бұрын
Yet it IS backside. Frontside is when your back is facing the slope. Yup it's confusing, especially on a box, but backside means you approach with the feature on your heelside... Many SA vids explain this quite well (recently, look for the training board vids...)
