I use a large 51 Oz coffee container for kitchen scraps and when it gets full I bury the contents about 18 inches deep. I try to bury them symmetrical to make sure the whole garden stays fertilized. The bonus to this is that worms and night crawlers will swarm and that is a multi tiered bonus. Firstly they aerate the soil and secondly they are pooping everywhere which is another awesome fertilizer. People who buy worm castings can save their money. Also, the sound of a plastic bag blowing in the wind is a good deer deterrent. It's a bummer that I just discovered this channel. I pray that this man and his family have a wonderful 2022.

My parents live in an area where the soil is very sandy. One year I planted carrots in their garden. The next day I planted the same seed in the clay at my house. Come harvest time, we dug down about 4-6" so we could get a good grip on them, at my parents. We had a few carrots that stuck out of a bread bag. (not counting the tops) A couple days later I dug up one at home. It was about the diameter of a pencil and 2 1/2-3" long. Loose soil is very important. Good to see you again. Been a long time. Take care and God Bless.

Jnul0 so glad to see you man. Bev said you were fishing and I was happy for you. Hope things are “well enough “ for you both. Thanks for showing up!,,,,,, It’s nice to see people still care for each other. It’s hard to make a virus democratic or republican. It’s pretty’s neutral . Anyway, it’s nice just to see you guys. Thanks for the video, I’m so worried about that toilet paper, but I really need 50 pounds of seed potatoes. Cooking to advantage is a given. Everyone has to learn to make stone soup!

What your elders on the creek did for you is very needed in other parts of this country. Some of us don't have elders. Years ago there was a Yahoo group called Clever Homemakers. It was a place one could go to ask questions & get/give answers sharing knowledge gained. Wish we had a place to go to get good down-home answers. Would it be possible for someone with some computer knowledge in your community to set up a FB site where we could go to get help and learn?

I worry about my older neighbors too. We have several around us. I have had the crud so I’m afraid to even approach them yet, but we are going to do a neighborhood watch so we can have a system to hear from everybody everyday.

JOHN AND MS MARY, JUST A SUGGESTION FOR THE NEXT LIVE CHAT. COULD YOU ASK THE PEOPLE TO TYPE THEIR QUESTIONS IN CAPITALS SO AS TO MAKE IT EASIER FOR THE TWO OF YOU TO SEE. EVERYONE ELSE CAN USE REGULAR TYPE. SOMETIMES WE CAN ANSWER OR REPEAT ANSWERS TO OTHERS THAT MAY HAVE MISSED SOMETHING. SISTER BEV ASKS US ALL THE TIME TO USE CAPS FOR QUESTIONS, HELPS HER ALOT. SHE DOESN'T HAVE TO WASTE TIME ON SMALL TALK IN THE SIDE CHAT (BECAUSE WE CAN GET CHATTY) AND IT GIVES TIME FOR THE MODIFIERS TO CONTROL WHEN SOME GET OUT OF HAND. THANKS FOR LAST NIGHT, IT WAS A TREAT IN SEEING YOU ALL.

Poachers?? The elders did that very thing back in the day to feed there families, and if things in the world was to get bad enough I wouldn’t hesitate to do the same for mine or to help someone out.
