My handicap (scoring factor) is 22. My lowest score is 89. I started playing golf 2 years ago. I am currently 70 years of age. Was just fitted last month and got a beautiful set of Srixon irons, a Srixon 5-wood, and a PXG driver. I have a Ping putter. This year, my goal is to shoot 85 on a regular basis!

It’s funny, I had a playing assessment over a 9 hole academy course for my first lesson (22 handicap then) and shot 4 over! I think talking your game thru as you walk is such a benefit as it removes ‘noise’ and keeps concentration on what’s important.

At the moment I'm 15 handicap, I have been as low as 12, but also as high as 22 just a year ago. I'm 52 now so I don't expect to be getting to scratch anymore, especially as I can only get to play once every 2 weeks. But I'm aiming to break 80 and get down to 10 Lowest I've scored is 80, but that was on a par 70, 9 hole course with 18 tees. Best on a 'full' course is 82 at Club Marina Golf Mojacar, one of our local courses we play with our society here in Spain.

Ver y interesting. I have heard most of these tips before. However, what makes it most interesting is seeing it in action. ALso, the difference between what a 10 handicapper sees and what a pro sees is a completely different mindset. A major part of this is having the confidence to do what you can and stop doubting yourslef, especially when standing over the ball and second guessing yourself.

I am now at 16 was as low as 8 and shot 79 as lowest score. A few years ago I had 2 new hips and back surgery, after that, lost my rhythm and tempo. My driver swing speed is as low as 86, was 100+. Working my way back to around 10 at the end of the year.

Great vid coach, and im sure that concept has been used in many different sports. Plus in logistical terms "A1" referse to the state on equipment being brand new and perfect working order. Then "A2" and finally "E0" as broken beyond repair. Im sure theres more and dont know all of them. 16.6 hc with a pb of 81.

I am currently a 13, I was as low as a 4 and have shot 71 on three occasions. I tried switching to stack and tilt three years ago and my handicap went up to a 16 from a 7! I am now trying to relearn the golf swing from this disaster!

I have a 12 hcp and yesterday I shot a 75. I play from the Sr Tees, and Im 60. I hit my drives pretty good, but I play a bump and run better than up and down, and thats my choice if there is nothing between me and the green. My putting is good because I practice that at home a lot. But I would like to be a better ball striker with my irons, and Im brutally ugly from the bunkers. But Im a great course management specialist, and always try to play safe golf to keep my scores down.

Current handicap 15.2, best score was when I was off 13 - 74 on a par 69, so 5 over. With his little story it sounds like Nedum was thinking of the expression ‘back to square 1’, which referred to a back pass in order to start a new build up, because square 1 was the location of the goalkeeper on the Radio Times pitch grid.

Hi coach, I’m a 22 handicap but best I played was a 84 which was a 12 over. Reason was, I only played irons !!! No driver, no woods, no hybrid. I played the clubs i could use and that didn’t put me in trouble.

Keep the ball in play 👍👍 irons will only get you so far though. To go low you will need to conquer those woods.

I think it’s actually “back to square 1” rather than A1, referring to the ball going backwards towards the fullback (not sure if it was left back or right back) and the team having to start again - hence the saying that means slightly going backwards with something and starting over…back to square 1.

A1 has its origin in the Lloyds register (dating back to 1800) relating to vessel classification (letter A,E,I, O and U) and the material carried (1 to 3). I am 14.4 and I recently played to 7. Form however is temporary and I cant claim to have any class 😀

Lloyd’s, a British company that insured ships, coined the term. Before any ship was insured, the company inspected it and then rated it. The letters A, E, I, O and U were used to indicate the condition of the hull of the ship, and the numbers 1, 2, 3, etc. were used to indicate the state of the equipment (cables, anchor, etc.) on board. If the ship was rated A1, it meant that both the hull and the equipment were in excellent condition.…..another theory, not sure if it’s true 🙂
