I just retired last August from Chrysler! I worked in the dealership level for 52 years. I miss the old days. This was a time when Chrysler was Chrysler!!! 1972 when I started. and I miss it still today!

Is kind of suck to say, that it was first sold to the Germans and then they didn’t went well and then the Italians, but now Steallantis is BS and a BS company, being independent is a challenge and the only solution is to be Japanese owned.

As an EU citizen I want to make a point that most of us here do not like EVs, it's not "what european market wants", but its what european market is slowly forced into with no option from our auto makers apart from undersized engines of silly 1.0L displacement. If you ask an average european consumer and exclude the leftwing activist city center folks, you will find that 2.0-2.5L diesel engines are most desirable here in EU. Myself I was always a gas car guy so I drive a Dodge Challenger 5.7 and people look at me like a celebrity driving down the street with super loud exhausts while everyone else is sitting in their coffe grinder of a car :)))

With everything that's happening with the brands right now it really makes me sad. I grew up wanting to own a Dodge Muscle car after watching the Fast and Furious franchise. I'd love to see the mopar brands come back and prosper. When I found out Dodge and Chrysler where going all in on EVs and ditching V8s it was like someone slamming the brakes and giving me whiplash. The company did really well from 2011-2022. The problem is that era also set them up for failure today by not investing in Dodge or Chrysler. Foreign interference has destroyed alot of companies.. our government needs to step in and watch what these other countries are doing to destroy our economy. It's not just China...
@ducktails16952 ай бұрын
I agree...Dodge's marketing with V8 Muscle was spectacular and it worked great.....until it didn't. Dodge put all of their eggs into the V8 muscle car basket that just wasn't sustainable longterm and were seeing the effects from that today. They needed to slowly turn the page. Maybe not drop the V8 entirely, but make a V8 hybrid with a new more fuel efficient V8 engine. Maybe the V8 engine doesn't make 700-800HP and it's no longer supercharged but I think they would have made the majority happy with just having a V8 option available even if it was a V8 Hybrid. They could have even made the EV Charger alongside. They also forgot there are Dodge fans out there who love the brand, but don't want or need a large vehicle with a V8. I know everyone loves to shit on the Hornet but it's a necessary vehicle for Dodge and it's a shame they screwed it up with overpricing it. It's a shame they didn't keep the Dart around longer. It was a nice vehicle, it just needed some love and attention put into it. The brand will not survive on just Chargers and Challengers even if it kept going down the road it was. It needs to diversify their lineup so there are choices for all customers, or potential customers.

Look at Kia for example. I can't stand them overall but you can't hate them being honest. They have vehicles in every segment and at approachable prices points. That's what Dodge and Chrysler used to be. They have "compacts" that aren't so compact starting at 20k, crossovers in the mid to low 20k etc. We can have exciting cars at lower price points while keeping fast bold halo cars.

Chrysler brand needs saved! We need a full line offering from entry level to imperial. I have two imperials.. what amazing cars. With a full line of cars to offer, that will keep people coming back. Especially at affordable prices. And I do think the Step Up program would be the way to go. Some going back to the old school methods might just be what this company needs. Start with Plymouth. Hey, back in the day, Chrysler HQ used to be in Highland Park, Michigan, which was also home to of the first Model T plant. When Chrysler moved out, that devastated that city. Sometimes, you have to look back to the past to figure out why you're in the predicament you're in now.

Long history of Chrysler in our family, my great grandfather knew your great grandfather .. when he opened the Mt Elliot / lynch road hammer shop my dad has a picture of my family with his arm around your family in a company picture at the new plant, he started at dodge main and /or Maxwell in 1918 in the hammer house as it was called then, moved to the hammer shop when it opened ..my grandfather followed him then my dad.. I'm the 1st generation not to, it broke my heart many times over the years when a) dodge main was tore down, b) Plymouth lynch road assembly closed (building still there but everything else is gone, hammer shop, heading shop all gone from the Lee Iococa years a big vacant field from Mt Elliot to Van dyke, Dodge still fills the yards with over flow at times

It all makes sense. American built quality while creating jobs. This is where our government needs to step up and get involved in helping to put real people to work. Not just fabricated numbers. Real jobs. There is great potential here and a lessen to be learned. There should have been a way to guarantee American built, American owned and jobs here back when the bailouts were given. This should have been attached to the brands as an agreement.

As an idea for a future video, could you look into the performance of BMW and Land Rover V8s? They seem to achieve high smog efficiency scores, and it would be cool if Stellantis could partner with one of them to make a better V8 for Dodges and Chryslers. Because they care about smog and the environment, and I do too, but maybe some innovation can bring something both clean and fun, not necessarily electric. Actually, let me be more specific: Find a Jaguar F Pace SVR.
